A short History and prominace of Sri Parakalamutt

Sri Parakalamutt is one of oldest and first
Srivaishnava mutt dating back to 1338 A.D (14th
century). The presiding diety of Sri Parakalamutt "Sri
Lakshmi Hayagreeva" is a gift from Saraswati to Sri
Ramanujacharya and then worshipped by great
Srivaishnava acharyas including Pillan, Pundarikaksha,
Vedantha Desika and Brahmathantra parakala Jeer.

Such an old mutt where Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva been

workshipped by our greatest acharyas, is today running
out of sincere sishyas to take care the mutt by
supporting and developing mutt's programs and
projects.

Current Pontiff's Vaibhavam:

The present pontiff of the Parakala Mutt is the 36th
Brahmatantra Swantantra Parakala jeer His Holiness Sri
Abhinava Vageesha Bhramatantra Swatantra Parakala
Swami. HH ascended the Peetam in 1992, is a highly
dedicated and sincere kaimakarya bhaktha of Sri HH
Abhinava Ranganatha Bhramatantra jeer (Popularly known
as Periya swami) and Sri Laksmi Hayagreevan.
His holiness acharya bhakthi towards Periya swami is
exceedingly high to the level that HH still under the
impression and treats that the Peetam is run even
today by Periya swami. Even today only the padhuka
theertham of Periya swami is given to sishyas by the
hands of our prakrutham swami. HH never distributes
his padhuka theertham. Such a great dedication and
acharya bhakthi.
HH is a highly learned acharya, well versed in
Sanskrit and Tamil literature, yet very humble and
kind to all and easily reachable by everyone. HH has
spread the ideals of "Dharma, Devotion, Dedication and
Determination" (the four dimensions which will lift he
mankind to greater heights). HH is the Raja guru of
the Scion of the royal family of Mysore (Mysore maha
raja). HH is moving on the same lines as that of his
predecessors by rededicating himself for the spritual
upliftment of human beings.

Projects @ Parakamutt

1. Revivial of "Vedantha Desika Vihara Sabha" - which
is the one founded by H.H. Sri Abhinava Ranganatha
Brahmatantra Swatantra Parakala Swami - popularly
known as "Periya Swami" of parakala mutt, aiming
towards propagating Srivaishnava Vedic philosophy and
to felicitate Sanskrit/Vedic scholars and vidwans.

2. Veda Patashala for higher academic courses in Vedic

Agama and Sastras.

3. full-fledged Yoga-Patasala to learn the Art and

Science of Yoga.

4. Publication of books on sprituality and Philosophy

authored by our poorvacharyars.

5. Educational Institutions - Pre-degree & degree

courses in tune with present day needs along with
philosophical packages.

6. Free boarding, lodging facilities for the

economically weaker students.

7. Vruddhashrama for the old-aged and disabled

persons.

8. Hospital integrated with Ayurvedic, Homeopathic,

Naturopathic, Allopathic and other Sciences.

Support Methods:

This is a CALL FOR ALL SISHYAS and MOTIVATED
SRIVAISHNAVAS INTERESTED IN PARAKALA MUTT to PLEDGE
for the SUPPORT of MUTT's PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS.

One can choose any way of support for Sri Parakamutt

from the following list.

1. Recommend Srivaishnavas good at bhagavath

aradhanam, bhagavath kaimkaryam / Veda parayanam /
Nalayira Diyaprabhanda parayanam / dedicated
kaimkayarms (including paricharaha kaimkaryam) to Sri
Parakala Mutt, Mysore.

Please note that the interested kaimkarya paras SHOULD

stay in Mysore and should have HIGH DEDICATION in
bhagavath and acharya kaimkaryams.

2. Visit Parakala mutt regularly and do kaimkaryam

what ever one can do.

3. Contribute things to mutt that are needed for the

mutt's day to day activity towards any kaimkaryam to
Sri Lakshmi Hayagreevan.

4. Contribute money to mutt for the activities and

project.
