MISSISSIPPI NATURAL HISTORY
Explored in 1540 by the Spanish explorer De Soto. Colonized first by the
French in 1699. Become a colony of British in 1763. And in 1779 it passes to
the Spanish dominion. It becomes territory of U.S. in 1798. After 19 years, in
December 10, 1817 it is consecrated as the 20th American state.
