Solid waste management in Cagayan de Oro is a massive issue.

The local government has been in

continued attempt to manage the segregation of waste and garbage, including the disposal of such.
One of the mandates of RA 9003 is the participation not only of the government and its agencies but
also with the cooperation of the community. Discipline has its root from the basic unit of the society--
the family.

In line with this, the group recommends a project proposal that is inclined to the community itself.
The project will promote the community involvement in the proper disposal and segregation of
waste.
