At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to plan, draft and write
Objectives about a dish with support.
Success  Pupils were able to plan, draft and write about a dish with

with support.
 Pupils were able to read about a dish and find out what the
ingredients are.
Lesson Outline Pre-Lesson:
1. Stick the food picture cards on the board.
2. Volunteers come to the board in turn to write the nouns under the
appropriate flashcards.
The other pupils help them if they get stuck.
While-Lesson:
3. Activity 1:
4. Ask pupils what they remember about the dishes from different
countries.
5. Ask groups to quickly present one of the dishes as a review for
the whole class.
6. Brainstorm some different dishes from around the world.
7. Use the pictures to introduce the dishes on the worksheet.
8. Ask pupils to do the matching activity (worksheet part A) in pairs.
9. Activity 2:
10. In small groups, pupils choose one dish. They should check
online to find out what the ingredients are.
11. Ask pupils to complete the first sections of the worksheet part B.
12. Then guide them to write about a dish. They can use the texts in
the textbook (Student’s Book, p.58) as models or you could write
a model on the board.
Monitor carefully and help pupils.
Post Lesson:
13. Have some groups display their texts in the classroom and
conduct gallery walk. Encourage pupils to give
comments/feedbacks on each other’s work.
14. Ask pupils which dishes sound yummy.

Teacher’s The lesson could also not be conducted very well due to classroom
reflection management and also time management. For instance, I have spent
(execution of more time on the per-lesson and the early stages of the first activity of
lesson): the while-lesson. Not only that, many students went out of the
classroom to go to the toilet, and some of them were not even paying
attention to the lesson and proceed to do their own work instead.
