Business 6/14/2018 4 Cawelti (1965) found three main strands of thought out of a number of competing versions of the ideas of success :
The First strand stressed the self disciplinary and religious
virtues.
The Second strand stressed qualities such as initiative
aggressiveness and forcefulness.
The Third strand defined success in terms of individual
fulfillment and progress rather than in terms of wealth and status.
