3 Enemy of follower of Christ

• 1st enemy - devil, he will influence other people to put pressure on believer. It will work double
time to take you away from being a follower Christ. The more we are close to God, the stronger
the attack of the enemy.
• 2nd enemy - system of the world, 3 kind of phase to attract us, lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes
and pride of life. This is the scheme of the enemy to derailed our faith. Attracts us to give
pleasure, eyes make us greedy on something that give us temporary happiness and maintain
status of being ahead of anyone even doesn’t add to spiritual walk.showy or laging In sa society
and EGO. This very effective enemy scheme to take away us from the Lord. People are easily get
caught on this scheme
• 3rd enemy - internal enemy, live in us, in our hearts, secret or agent living in us. Spying in our daily
lives.

“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires
what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with
each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are
not under the law. The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions,
factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who
live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

• Old man / old self - sinful nature, enemy using this norm as human
○ We are vulnerable to this sinful nature such as flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity
and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish
ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies.
○ Defeating this old man or old self mention in romans 6:5~10
“For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with
him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that
the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that
since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery
over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.”
Romans 6:5-6, 8-10
