Ph.D Admission Guidelines


· Applicant who has passed Post Graduate Degree with 55% marks or with an
equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) can apply for Admission.
· Relaxation of 5% in the required percentage of marks will be given to
applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled
categories.
· For admission to Ph.D program in a related subject, an applicant has to
appear for RET (Research Entrance Test) conducted by the University twice
in a year (tentatively in May and October) followed by personal Interview.
· Applicants who have qualified in NET/SET/GATE/GPAT examination of the
apex bodies as CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT/AICTE or M.Phil Degree in a
relevant subject obtained from any recognized university or senior citizen
of age of 60 years and above with Master's degree or Candidate such as
Advocate/Doctor/Artist/ Industry Professional/Employee of Government/
Semi-Government Organizations with Post Graduate Degree (at least 55%
marks) and 10 years of professional experience shall be exempted from RET.
· RET would comprise of evaluating the applicant in two papers.
· Both papers will have 50-50 (100) multiple choices questions of one mark
each. There will be no negative marking.
· The Entrance Test shall be of two hour duration (i.e. 120 minutes). All
selected applicants based on the RET; will have to appear for a personal

A novel concept initiated at SGRRU
Human Library, which is a place where real people are on
loan to readers. The idea based on the concept introduced
in Denmark in the year 2000. The aim was to utilize Human
as a Book and utilize Human experience. A list of volunteer
faculty and staff is prepared with the subject of their
specialization. The subject speciality is made known to all.
A reader who wants to directly confront their ambiguity by
choosing a subject they don't understand, can utilize a
Human Book on request for a specific period (30 min. to 1
hr.). The results are found encouraging.
