Fold the cab up, with the tipping pump (does not apply to NH).

Note: Make sure that the parking brake is applied.

Remove the cover over the gear selector cables.

Undo the cable sheath from the cover, remove the left-hand cable from the gear selector, use tool 9990091.

Special tools: 9990091

Remove the right-hand cable, use a 13 mm combination spanner.

Empty the pneumatic system.

Fold the cab down (does not apply to NH).

Remove the gaiter.

Remove the cover washer, use a small screwdriver.

Remove the nut from the gear lever knob.

Lift off the knob, mark up the air pipes so they can be put back in the correct positions. Remove the guide for the gear
lever knob.

Undo the air pipes by pushing in the sleeve and at the same time pulling the air pipes off.

Remove the sound insulation.

Undo the screws on the gear selector, lift the control off.

Remove the 4 screws that secure the gear selector to the lower cover, release the clamp securing the air pipe.

Remove the insulation plate.

Fit the new insulation plate so that the guide pins fit into the holes on the insulation plate.

Position the gear selector so that it fits into the cutout in the insulation plate. Fit the insulation plate, taking care not to
damage it.

Fit and secure the gear selector on the lower cover. Clamp the air pipe in the gear selector.

Install the gear selector and tighten the screws.

Install the sound insulation, thread the air pipes through. Install the guide for the gear lever knob.

Push the air pipes into the gear lever knob according to the marks. The air pipe must be pushed all the way in and then
pulled back until the sleeve locks the pipe. Otherwise there is a risk of leakage.

Install the gear lever knob and tighten it.

Note: The nut should be flush with or 2 mm below the end of the gear lever.

Install the cover washer.

Install the gear lever gaiter.

Fold the cab up, with the tipping pump (does not apply to NH).

Note: Make sure that the parking brake is applied.

Install the cables.

Install the cover on the gear shift cables.

Fold the cab down (does not apply to NH).

Fill the pneumatic system with air.
