STEP :1 – GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

 Visual inspection of the tools & PPEs will be done. Only healthy tools & PPEs will be allowed to use.
 TBT will be conducted to all workers prior to start the work.
 Role & responsibilities must be discussed & aligned prior to start of work.
 Work must NOT be allowed in adverse weather (rain, thunderstorm, high wind….etc.).
 Manpower must be available as per requirement of the work.
 Unauthorized persons are strictly prohibited into working zone.
 LIVE areas must be barricaded & poster should display.
 PTW should be taken.

STEP: 2 : PERMIT TO WORK

 Authorized person will take the shutdown prior to start the work. LOTO system will be applied & verified.
 After ensuring the proper shutdown local earthing will be applied.
 All discharge rods should be inspected prior to its use.
 Barricade the LIVE / energized area. Display the danger / high voltage poster.

STEP: 3 : HOISTING OF INSULATOR

 Before start of the stringing work, tower tightening must be done & it should be reverified by SPGVL team.
 Before hoisting, all insulators are cleaned in a manner that will not spoil or scratch the surface of the insulator, but in no case shall any oil be used
for the purpose.
 The other hardwares of insulator are assembled as per the drawing.

STEP: 3 : PLACEMENT OF MANLIFT

 Manlift will be placed on level ground.

 The worker, who will be in manlift’s bucket, must be worn safety harness.
 Wheel Stoppers should be used for manlift, to avoid any accidental movement.
 LIVE line must be identified near the manlift operation and it must be communicated to all workers & operator.
 A SAFE distance must be maintained with all live line while operation of manlift.
 One dedicated supervisor should be available for manlift operation.

STEP: 4 : PAYING OUT OF CONDUCTOR

 Conductor drum should be placed on level ground and drum jack / turn buckle should be provided for uncoiling of the conductor.
 All required drawing should be available on site.
 Exiting 132 kV tower’s beam will be protected with the help of bamboo, to avoid any damage to conductor.
 PP rope paying out will done first. After PP rope paying out, conductor pulleying will be done.
 Manlift’s bucket will be used to support the conductor in mid span. (to avoid any damages to exiting line / equipment.)

STEP: 5 : FINAL SAGGING OF CONDUCTOR

 After conductor paying out, final sagging arrangement will be done.

 Final sagging will be done, as per drawing / sag chart.
 Final sag will be done one by one conductor.
 Final sag should be done in this manner that equal load should be applied on tower.
 All required camps / hardware should be fixed as per drawing.
 After final sag, spacer should fix as per drawing.

STEP: 6: REMOVAL OF TOOLS & TACKLES

 After completion of all work, removal of all tools will be done. Bamboo arrangement will be also removed from exiting tower.
 Manlift will be removed from working ZONE. Close supervision required while manlift demobilization.
 Removal of the Workers & tools should be reverified.

STEP: 7: FINAL INSPECTION OF AREA PRIOR TO PTW RETURN

 After completion of work, SPGVL, GE & State electricity authority team jointly verified the work area, for ready for charging.
 Before returning the PTW, workers must be communicated that Substation / line is going to charge and No any further work shall be
done.
