1 Introduction
Now adays,there are numerous restaurant with a grate services and grate ratings.So what make
the restaurant more better than the other one,actually a good management system.A good
management is like a guidance and no guidance means no standard.All things aside,our team members
made a small restaurant management system,a pos(Point of Sales)system design for the restaurant or
a food service which will help to capture transaction and manage inventory with accuracy and
generally run everyday processes more efficiently.
1.1 Purpose
This system presents a detailed explanation of the objectives,features,user interface and
application of restaurant management system in real life.It will also describe how how the system will
perform and under which it must operate.We will also show user interface in this management
system.Both of the stakeholder and the developer can benefits from this management system.
1.2 Scope
This system will help to manage and run the restaurant business systematically.In this system,we
will provide an app that can be used by the customers to order food.Customer can also give feedback
through this app.so the owner of the restaurant can evaluate the whole system.This will ultimately
lead to hire less waiters and create an opportunity to appoint more chefs and better kitchen place to
serve food faster.Customers can also make payment through debit and credit cards using POS which
will being integrated with the management software.All the information about daily expenses and
profit will be saved in the system.Also the information about the employees will be saved in the
system which can be access by the admin.
2 Overview
2.1 Product Perspective
The restaurant management system helps the restaurant manager to manage the restaurant more
effectively and efficiently by computerizing meal ordering,biling and inventory control.The system
processes transaction and stores the resulting data.Reports will be generated from the data which
helps the manager to make appropriate business decisions for the restaurant.For example,knowing
the number of customers for a particular time interval,the manager can decide whether more waiters
and chefs are required.Moreover,can easily calculate daily expenses and profits.

2.3 Administrators
Restaurant administrators are in charge of day-to-day of a restaurant .They make sure the palce is
operating smoothly,under budget and lawfully while doing the best to ensure customer satisfaction
and generate repeat business.
2.4 Users and Characteristics
The customers can access the system through wifi connection and order food. The chef can see the
order and after preparing the food he will tell the system that the food is ready.The waiter can get the
confirmation of the food form the chef through the system and deliver to the right table.the cashier
can access the system and receive the payment from customers.
3 Design and Implementation Constraints
1.The system can be access through smartphone by either IOS app or Android app.
2.Information flow or data flow can be controlled and more effective.
3.English language for local and foreign customers.
4.Java can be use for more security.
4 External Interface Requirements
There are many types of interfaces but the interfaces that namely supported the systems are-
User interface,hardware interface,software interface and communications interface.
4.1 User Interface
The user interface will be implemented using smartphone app browser.This interface will be user
friendly.So that every kind of customer can place the food order easily.Customers can also give
feedback through it easily with some demo comment or if they are keen to write their review by own.
4.2 Hardware Interface
Only recommended for smartphone hardware.
4.3 Software Interface
The system shall communicate with the configurator to identify all the available components to
configure the product.The system shall communicate with the content manager to get the product
specifications.
4.4 Communications Interface
Communication functions required the internet protocol and it will follow HTTPS.It will use FTP for
whole system with local server.And email communication to device to device of the system.
5 Functional Requirements
5.1 Food Order app
Customers can order food with the app but I needs specific wifi connection.
5.2 Take Order
The chef will take the order and if it is available,he will confirm the food order and start to prepare
food.
5.3 Serve Food
When the food is ready to be served then the chef will alert the waiter.After serving the food
waiter will insure the order as served.
5.4 Payment
The cashier will receive the payment if the customer is a member he or she will get discount.
5.5 Available Good
The chef will add what goods are available and the admin can see that data.
5.6 Required Goods
The chef will add what goods are required.
5.7 Customer Review
Customers can give overall review about the food and service.
6 Non-functional Requirements
1.The system software will support multiple language.
2.The system is available 100% for users and is used 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
The system shall be operational for 7 days a week.
3.Even the system fails,the system will recovered backup within an hour or less.
4.The system has to be 100% reliable.
5.Passwords must change once per day atleast.
