EMBRACING CHANGE 2
Transitions can be hard to deal with, right? Humans naturally tend to keep things they
hold dear close to their bosoms during transitions, especially from one stage of life to another.
Losing such things can really throw a person off balance. Life has several transitions, mostly
defined by changes in age, marital status, and social status. Therefore, the fear of the unknown
awaiting in the next stage of life causes anxiety among human beings; especially if the feeling is
that there is a chance they would have to shed off either some if not all of their previous habits,
or even possessions. However, the prudent step to take in such situations would be to embrace
logic and reason. The fact is, change is inevitable and we cannot really put up a fight and win,
only be trumped by it at the end. There is however beauty in the struggle of a fragile fighter, and
that would be an astounding scene to behold; for instance a seventy year old man resisting
change, trying so hard to fit in skinny jeans, getting tattoos, and piercings. Acceptance of the fact
that we are all drowning in the deep murky seas of uncertainties of life is the first step of
development of logical frameworks; by doing this, we save ourselves the shame of being seen as
slaves to the mystics of muscle, which have an underlying theme of doing as the society rather
than what makes us happy. A seventy year old man would not want to put on skinny jeans if not
for the pressure of the society that the dressing style is fashionable and trendy, but rather put on a
hat, a primrose summer shirt, and loose pants because that is what they feel comfortable, at least
The biggest question would be “How do we approach change?” While the answer to this
question might seem intuitive, it is something that most people struggle with, and that is to stay
open-minded and positive. Lewin’s change theory has three simple steps to change which are
unfreezing, making necessary adjustments, and refreezing. These three steps all have an element

of positivity: only a positive mind would be willing to unfreeze from a state they are used to and
allow for adjustments. Although not all phases of life are mandatory for human beings, logic and
reason help us identify what these phases carry along and also make informed actions. For
instance, there is education, career, marriage, retirement, old age, and death. A logical and
positive mind identifies that success in education requires commitment in school work and
informs the action of long hours of study and revision, fulfilled marriage needs commitment and
compromise, while others like retirement requires a good saving plan during a person’s career
life. Ignoring such simple actions emanating from a logical framework is what leaves most
Reason is the key to human existence because only logic drives productivity. Logic is
simply saying that letter A is A, that A is not non-A, and having the ability to either pick non-A
or A. Failure to embrace such frameworks is what has made us sink in rotten political systems,
