Dear Disaster Service Department Head,

As you are probably aware, over the last 10 years hurricane intensity has increased due to
climate change. Along with increased storm swell activities and an increase in frequency of
tropical storms. This means we have had to repair and rebuild far more frequently than we have
in the last 30 years before this climate shift. It is time that we need to re-evaluate the annual
budget for disaster relief. The Caribbean nations have had several internal meetings and
requested me as a consultant to request a meeting with you and a few other relief fund
organizations to increase the amount we receive for preparations before these storms. I know
that it is a hard thing to request more money and we know that you all do everything you can to
help when these disasters strike. However, we think if we receive more money for preparations,
we may be able to save money in the long run on the repairs funding.

Our plans are to shore up buildings to be more structurally sound, board windows to keep from
replacements, and build better shelters for those who either cannot prepare their homes or do
not have access to secure locations. If we receive bigger funding budgets, we can hopefully
prevent losses of lives, save money on reparations, and be faster at rebuilding before the next
storm strikes. Once we can setup a meeting, several other consultants and I can provide you
with financial estimates and more plans which we have drawn up. We would also like to discuss
getting more advertisements and access to providing donations for disaster relief when these
disasters occur. We have polled with many people outside of our islands nations and they report
a large loss of knowledge in how dire our circumstances become. Also, it is being reported they
do not know where or how to donate. We would like to rectify this problem by providing more
donation options and raising awareness. Thank you for your time and everything your
organization does. We appreciate all the help and support you provide, and I look forward to
hearing from you soon.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 555-555-5555.

Sincerely,
Jonathan Liedke
