INTRODUCTION
 CHAPITRR : Introduction

DESCRIPTION DU COUR

This course provides training on the 320-330 D-Series hydraulic excavators. System operation of the hydraulic system, electronic
system, monitoring system and medium tool control systems will be covered.
Students will be introduced to the various hydraulic and electronic testing procedures. The students will use a laptop computer and
ET (Electronic Technician) software to obtain diagnostic information, and perform calibrations on the machines. Students will use a
flow meter to set and to calibrate the tool control system.

PREREQUISITES

This course covers the differences between C-Series and the New D-Series Mid-Size Hydraulic Excavators. Students should have
attended
C-Series Mid-Size Excavator class. Good working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems on Caterpillar Excavator.
These prerequisites courses should be completed prior to participating in this course :

- Self study of “Fundamentals of Mobile Hydraulics”..................... TEMC3002

- Self study of “Fundamentals of Electricity” ................................. TEMC3004

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the course students will be able to:

Identify the major components of the machine.

Perform engine performance test (quick test) on “Acert” engines.
Perform de stroking pressure tests (quick test) on the “D-Series” hydraulic pumps.
Successfully navigate the new monitoring system.
Perform engine governor sweep and calibration procedures.
Perform power shift sweep and calibration procedures.
Perform tool control system calibration procedures using the monitor and ET.
Configure the tool control system for specific work tools.
