RDM SECTION EXERCISE ON RDM FORMS, GIS MAPS, and ARP

The RDM section seeks to undertake an exercise together with the regional engineers to carry out
the following:

1. Appreciation of the RDM system as well as the way a road is classified in RDM in terms
of Ordnance definition.
2. Works History, that they should be able to collect data that is relevant to RDM once the
works have been done.
3. Borrow Pits, to be able to correct information of the Borrow Pits in the form that is
relevant to RDM.
4. Structures Inventory, that at the time of handover of structures construction they will be
able to collect inventory data for the structures.
5. GIS Roads Map, to engage the regional engineers on the GIS Maps that have been
produced in the GIS development exercise. This is to enable them also to give input on
the geometry of the roads as well as the location of the road.
6. Annual Roads Programme, to document the challenges in determining the Road lengths
in RDM as compared to the way the data has been provided on some sections of the
roads. The ARP lengths of some road sections are not matching with the RDM data.

The table below shows the tentative programme for the exercise.
