STAINS REMOVAL GUIDE

INK OR PAINT STAINS - Soak in rubbing alcohol for 30 minutes or (ink only) spray with hair spray and wash out
or Dab a little non-gel toothpaste over the affected area and rub gently. Wash off with soap. Repeat if
necessary.

TEA OR COFFEE STAINS- Immediately pour boiling water over the stain until it is gone, or if it is already set,
scrub with a paste of borax and water and wash immediately. Or Mix 1 teaspoon of white vinegar with two
cups of water and apply to the stain with a sponge.

GRASS STAINS - Scrub with liquid dish soap or treat with a 50/50 Hydrogen Peroxide (3%) and water mix OR
Pre-treat the stain with white vinegar or dish soap.

MUD STAINS - Let dry and brush off what you can, then scrub with a borax/water paste and wash immediately
or Allow the mud to dry completely. Remove as much of the mud as you can then rub dish soap into the area
with a damp cloth.

TOMATO AND OTHER SAUCES - Treat with white vinegar directly on the stain and wash immediately.

CHOCOLATE - Remove as much of the excess as possible, being careful not to spread the stain. Rinse from the
reverse side with cold water. Gently rub in some liquid detergent and leave it to sit for 5 minutes, then soak for
15 minutes in cold water.

DINGY WHITES OR UNDERARM DEODORANT STAINS - Soak the stain directly in a mix of 50/50 hydrogen
peroxide and water for 30 minutes and then add 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide to the wash water. For really
tough yellow stains, make a paste of 3% hydrogen peroxide and baking soda and rub into the stain. Leave on
for 5 minutes before laundering.

OTHER FOOD STAINS - Treat with a mix of 50/50 Hydrogen Peroxide and water and soak.

GREASE AND OIL STAINS - Sprinkle the stain with dry baking soda to remove any loose oil or grease and brush
off. Then, soak in undiluted white vinegar for 15 minutes, rinse and scrub with liquid dish soap before washing

VOMIT, URINE, POOP - DO NOT WASH IN WARM WATER!!!!! This will set in the smell. Soak in cool water and
then wash with an added mixture of 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide and 1/2 cup baking soda in the washing
machine.

GREASE- Sprinkle baking soda on the affected area to soak up excess grease. Rub the stain with liquid dish
soap and wash in the hottest water suitable for the garment.

GUM- Apply an ice cube to the area to harden the gum or put in a freezer. Scrape off as much of the hardened
gum as possible then pre-treat the area with a mixture of dish soap and white vinegar.

BLOOD - Soak in cold water, mixed with two tablespoons of salt or ammonia.

CRAYON- Sprinkle baking soda onto the crayon marks and rub with a cloth.

SWEAT -Create a paste with baking soda and water. Apply it to the stain and leave it to sit for an hour.

PROTEIN - Apply a paste of baking soda and water and leave for one hour. Soak garment in cold water then
wash as usual.

RED WINES - Sprinkle salt on the area to absorb as much of the stain as possible. Rinse from the reverse side of
the stain with boiling water and wash immediately.

RUST- Squeeze lemon juice onto the stain and sprinkle with salt. Allow garment to bleach naturally in the sun.
