I. INTRODUCTION

Achieving quality basic Education has been the dream of the Department of Education for
quit a long time now. In-Service trainings, seminar – workshops and the likes were given /
conducted to teachers. Enormous budgets were allocated for these purposes aside from the
support of non-government organizations and foreign assistance. But still the dream was very
illusive.

Thus the enhancement of R.A. 9155 (The Governance of Basic Education Act of 2001)
wherein School – Based Management (SBM) in one arm. It is inviting, encouraging, requiring
and involving the community in school planning and management as co-stakeholders.

School needs / problems were identified, analyzed, and prioritized, thus, the drafting /
formulation of this 3-year School Improvement Plan (SIP). Hoping the uplift the academic
performance and to make a difference in the lives on the learners and the realization of the long –
life dream of quality basic education.

II. SCHOOL GUIDING PRINCIPLES

A. Core Organizational Values

Being responsible / accountable individually for her decisions and actions for the over-all
performance of the school.

The ability to guide a group of people towards the achievement of the goals and
objectives of the school.

3. Fairness

The way to treat teachers and pupils fairly without discrimination regardless of their age,
gender, social and financial status.

B. Vision / Mission

VISION

Sawmill Elementary School produces quality education through the effort of

dedicated servants and stakeholders working together harmoniously for the improvement
and change of the school and community as partners.

MISSION

Provide the school children with basic education through the support of
competent teachers and cooperative stakeholders lead to the total development of high
performing learners.
