ACTION PLANS

X. Dissemination and Advocacy Plans

The purpose and intension of this research is to collaborate with the other agencies of the
government in solving interconnected problems that could only be resolved through the
collaboration of other government agencies. Health related problem does not only concern the
Department of Health but also by the Department of Education. Department of Education has
also offered several programs in relation to strengthening the health of their pupils such as the
feeding program to assist the nutrition of our pupils. Nutrition of the students greatly affect the
learning of the students, the comprehension of the lessons and how to solve and understand
certain problems and application of the solutions. Poverty, health, nutrition and education affects
each other and has been an inherited problem of the Philippines in the community.

Tuberculosis has been a problem in the society since then. It has been a long run fight of
the government to eradicate the problem of tuberculosis. There has been a lot of government
programs, but until now it has not yet been totally resolved. This research aims to help all of the
agencies concerned and to help in figuring out what could be a proper program suitable in the
present generation through determination of the related factors that affect the impact of the
government programs and treatment of tuberculosis and compliance of TB patients.

In the present, DSWD (Department of Social Welfare Development) has the 4ps (Pantawid
Pamilya Pilipino Program), while Dep-Ed (Department of Education) has the feeding program
for malnourished students and the DOH has its immunization program, TB-DOTS program and
etc.

Through this research, the DepEd could help the community through proper information
dissemination program of the health benefits of these programs and need of their full cooperation
and support for the successful implementation of government programs. The DepEd could insert
this health and nutrition agenda and the misconceptions and beliefs of the parents of our students
that could greatly affect the full implementation of government programs.
Nowadays, it has become the great battle field of the DOH and the DepEd on convincing
the parents on letting their students be vaccinated for health protection of various viruses and
deceases due to the dengvaccia vaccine scandal. Most of the parents got hesitated and lost its trust
and confidence of the government programs that turned out into measles outbreak and other
related programs. That health problem outbreak could also lead to different school related
problems. There could be an increase student dropouts and etc., for the students could be unfit
to continue their studies and could also infect other students if got infected of a communicable
decease.

After determination of the factors that affects the full implementation of government
programs and for the strict compliance of the treatment, the researchers would submit
recommendations to the concerned government agencies to set as guidelines on how to improve
their government programs based on the relevant data gathered during the research. The
researcher would like to collaborate with other government and non-government agencies with
their own specialties on different fields and aspects of life. These health-related problems and
school related problem arising from these health issues could only be resolved through the
collaborative efforts of the government agencies and non-government agencies who are willing
to help in resolving such problem in the community. DepEd, DSWD, DOH, Local Government
Unit and other concerned agencies must help hand-in-hand to resolve this issues and problem of
the community.

The DepEd could help on the proper information dissemination for the health benefits of
government and or Non-government programs and to properly educate them and to correct their
misconception and beliefs that would hinder the full implementation of services of the
government programs. The DepEd could be a medium of the DOH and other government
agencies, since the DepEd is the agency that has direct control and supervision of the students as
their second home in the society. The DepEd could also help influence the parents and the
community through the GPTCA (General Parents Teachers and Community Association).
Though this method and program, this could clear the doubts of their minds and earn trust and
confidence of these government and non-government programs for community development
and enhancement. DepEd may also conduct seminars with the GPTCA in collaboration with the
DOH for better empowerment as an expert agency in relation to health and/or during GPTCA
meetings DepEd may invite the DOH, DSWD, Barangay LGU and other concerned agencies’
representative to share their own government programs, what are the benefits of these programs
and why they must cooperate the efforts of the government for the full implementation of these
programs.
