SCOTLAND
A lot of people think that Scotland is a part of England but it is untrue. Scotland of
England is in fact a part of Great Britain. It is governed from London but in many ways it is a
separate nation. It has its own capital city. Edinburg, T owns laws and it owns stamps. It
even has it owns language, Gaelic, spoken now by only a few people on the islands.
There are only about five million Scots and most of them live in the southern half of
country called “lowlands, where the major cities are situated.
But most holiday visitors to Scotland go to the highland because of the High Mountain
and deep valleys, clean river and cold “lochs”. The high land are home to many rare birds and
animals, like the olden eagle and the wildcat, which are found nowhere else in Britain.
It is a lonely, wild and empty land. Only two percent of the British population live there
and the population is getting smaller all the time. Here is a very little work so most of
the young people who are born there have to move south to find a job. Perhaps the
highland of Scotland will become the last wilderness of Europe.

And he turned round to count them.
‘’One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.ooh! where is number nine? Abu Ali
cried.
He jumped down from his donkey. He looked behind the rocks and behind the trees.

‘’I’ll count them again, ‘’ Abu Ali said. ‘’One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight,
nine oohh, he must have come back’’

After awhile he counted his donkey again. He counted only eight! Once more he

“Ten? How can u see ten?”Asked Abu Ali
“I can see the donkey you are sitting on and I see eight donkey behind you,” said
