SCOTLAND
A lot of people think that Scotland is a part of England but it is untrue. Scotland of
England is in fact a part of Great Britain. It is governed from London but in many ways it is a
separate nation. It has its own capital city. Edinburg, T owns laws and it owns stamps. It
even has it owns language, Gaelic, spoken now by only a few people on the islands.
There are only about five million Scots and most of them live in the southern half of
country called “lowlands, where the major cities are situated.
But most holiday visitors to Scotland go to the highland because of the High Mountain
and deep valleys, clean river and cold “lochs”. The high land are home to many rare birds and
animals, like the olden eagle and the wildcat, which are found nowhere else in Britain.
It is a lonely, wild and empty land. Only two percent of the British population live there
and the population is getting smaller all the time. Here is a very little work so most of
the young people who are born there have to move south to find a job. Perhaps the
highland of Scotland will become the last wilderness of Europe.

Abu Ali Counts His Donkeys

One day Abu Ali went to the fair, and bought nine donkeys. He rode home on one of
them and the rest of the donkeys followed behind.
After a while Abu Ali said to himself, “I must take sure that all my donkeys are here.”
And he turned round to count them.
‘’One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.ooh! where is number nine? Abu Ali
cried.
He jumped down from his donkey. He looked behind the rocks and behind the trees.
But there was no donkey to be seen.
‘’I’ll count them again, ‘’ Abu Ali said. ‘’One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight,
nine oohh, he must have come back’’
Abu Ali climbed back on to the donkey and trotted away.
After awhile he counted his donkey again. He counted only eight! Once more he
looked behind the rock and behind the trees but there way no donkey to be seen. ‘’ I will
count again, ‘’he said, and this time there were nine.
Just then Abu Ali saw his friend Musa walking around the road’’,Musa,” He called. “
help me to count my donkeys. I keep losing me when I stop to count I have only eight but
when I get down to looked for the ninth there he is again!’’
‘’Well, I can see ten donkeys, Abu Ali, ‘’ allowed Musa.
“Ten? How can u see ten?”Asked Abu Ali
“I can see the donkey you are sitting on and I see eight donkey behind you,” said
Musa.
“Of course!” Cried Abu Ali.’’ How silly of me, but where is the tenth donkey?”
“He is sitting on top of the ninth donkey, “said Musa” and his name is Abu Ali.”

1985. He is 6 ft , 4 inc tall. He weight 195 ponds. Those make his physique ideal for a
swimmer –tall- broad shoulders and narrow hips.
He was the greatest swimmer in the 2008 Olympic game in Beijing he had an ultimate
gold – to break the 7 fold medals held by Mark Speed since 1972, and he did it. He got 8
Gold medals in Beijing. Although many people were skeptical that it could be done, he

Phelps’ recent accomplishment will make him the world’s richest, professional,
swimmer with the salary estimated 5 billion dollars a year.
