Hello guys, next semester you'll be having your internship tests and interviews.

It's always nice to be

prepared if you've got the time during the summers, would help a lot in the internship process. Here are
a few resources you should focus on, depending on the type of internship you will be targeting. Note that
this only covers the resources for the tests before the interview. Your interview preparation would
include a few other things including HR, questions on your project/internship, etc.

1. For tech internships (software dev, app dev, and other tech internships) they mostly would be taking a
coding test. Coding tests would mainly be covering questions on data structures (content of COL106 is a
must), arrays, dynamic programming, greedy algorithms. Questions from other topics may be asked, but
the above list would be the focus. You can practice questions from interviewbit.com, leetcode.com or any
other source you prefer. The more you practice, the better. Focus on solving as many problems as you
can, it's very helpful and the only way you'll get better in this field. Once you've got the basic foundations
of how to write code and solve problems, move towards learning and writing efficient codes in terms of
time complexity.

2. For data analytics, quantitative research and trading profiles, they'll be focussing on two topics,
Probability and Coding. For coding, the preparation remains the same as in point 1. For probability, you
should start off with the book in the Google drive link below (Go to puzzles->Finance InterviewsC.pdf). I
feel this book is a great start where you can learn how to solve problems. It helped me a lot with my Job
Preparation. Do the whole book. Once you're done with that, you must do ALL questions of
brainstellar.com. This website is an amazing repository for questions which appear in tests. You will
notice that many questions on your test are taken from this website, so it's always better to be prepared.
You can also look up to other resources on the drive link, like 20 problems, 40 puzzles, etc. The
enthusiastic ones and math lovers can take a step further and practice from cseblog.com, Nick's
Mathematical Puzzles from qbyte.org, gurmeet.net/puzzles. Also revise MTL106 if you've done it, and if
you haven't, there's nothing to worry about, just briefly go through the content covered till Minor 2
(distributions, variance, mean, covariance, others).

3. For Consulting, you should practice Guesstimates. Internet is your best friend for this. You can refer to
the Guesstimates section of the book 'Case Interviews Cracked' by Sankalp Kelshikar and Saransh Garg.
Please contact seniors who prepared for Consulting during their Job semester. They'll guide you better
and help you out with the preparation.

4. Many companies would have an aptitude test as well. You can refer to Pariksha test series for the
same. Questions are similar to what may come in the CAT exam. This is not very difficult, as most of us
have done similar preparation some time in the past for Olympiads or for JEE. More practice will help you
become faster.

Note: This is a general overview of what may come in the tests, and is by no means exhaustive. Some
companies may test you on other skill sets like speed math (refer arithmetic.zetamac.com), Group
Discussions (refer Internet), knowledge of economics, or department specific knowledge. I'll say for the
summers, you can focus on the more general four main categories, and move to more specific knowledge
as and when the tests come closer.

Also, I would recommend you to talk to as many seniors as possible, to get a more diverse and holistic
view of the same. My knowledge is biased towards specific fields as I myself prepared only for those.

Wishing you Good Luck,

Aakash
