INTERNAL LOAD DATA:

Internal loads involve components of cooling loads which arises from sources internal to the
conditioned space. The following components shall be dealt with in the proceeding items :
LIGHTING :
The details of the lighting loads in each room is taken from actual lighting load calculation.
The Summary of lighting load is enclosed for reference.

Formula
Qs = 3.41 x qw x Fu x Fs x CLF
Where :
Qs = Sensible cooling load in BTU/Hr.

qw = Total Lamp Wattage (As shown in the detailed calculation enclosed)

Fu = Usage factor (%)

= Wattage in use x 100
Total Installed Wattage

Fs = Special Balast allowance refer to Table 4.1 ASHRAE GRP-158

= Use 1.20

CLF = 1, Since lights will be turned on more than 16 Hrs. per day.

Summary of lighting load is as below:

EXHAUST AND VENTILATION CALCULATION:
Ventilation
We shall design the system in such a way that a positive pressurization is achieved.
Introduction of Outdoor air into the system through a fresh air opening / grilles into the
machine room shall eventually produce heat both sensible and latent in nature.

Qs = 1.1 x (To - TR) x CFM ------------------------ (1 )

QL = 4840 x (Wo - Wi ) x CFM ------------------------ (2 )

Where :
Qs = Sensible heat gain, BTU/Hr.
QL = Latent heat gain, BTU/Hr.
To = Design outside ambient temperature - 120 F

TR = Room design temperature. 77 F

Wo = Outside Air Humidity ratio # W.V / # water

Wi = Room air humidity ratio # W.V / # Water.
CFM = Ventilation rate requirement.

Please refer to the Computer Generated Calculation Sheets enclosed with this document for
the details.

a) Battery room

From SES-K-100 clause No. 10.11 the recommended air changes for the Battery room is 12.
Hence No. of air changes considered in the calculation is 12 AC/Hr. The detailed calculation of
the Battery room exhaust system is enclosed.

b) Toilet room

From SES-K-100 clause No. 10.11 the recommended air changes for the Toilet room is 10.
Hence No. of air changes considered in the calculation is 10 AC/Hr. The detailed calculation of
the toilet room exhaust system is enclosed.

Make-up air required to pressurize the conditioned space.
Qp = {Qexh + (Po/P1) Qexh + (Po/P1) Qx + Qx}
Where:
Qp = Air required to pressurize the space to required

Qexh = Exhaust air by Powered Exhaust fan - in cfm
Qx = Ex-filtration of the air from the space in cfm.
Po = Outside static pressure acting on wall in In. of w.g.
Pi = Inside static pressure of the conditioned space In.w.g.
Assumptions:
In this design, for the purpose of analysis, following assumptions are made:
Design Static pressure inside the conditioned space to be positive relative to atmosphere.
As per SES-K-100 & SES-P-119.43, the required pressure inside the conditioned space
shall be maintained at 0.2 inches of w.g.
Surface pressure relative to the static pressure is equivalent to the static pressure acting
on the building wall. I.e. P0=Pv = 0.22 in of W.G
Qexh = 0 CFM
Qx = 134 CFM
Qp = {0+(0.218526/0.418526)x0}+{(0.218526/0.418526) x134+ 134}
Qp = 204.0
Qp = 204.0 cfm
Note:
As per SES-K-100, Sec.-10, minimum of 10% of supply air required for fresh
air make up. From air balancing table enclosed, required make up is greater
than the Qp indicated above. Hence adopt Qp as make up, which is 2283 CFM.

Percent of outside air = Outside Air x 100

Fresh Air is considering as follows :

1. Fresh Air = 5% of Supply Air + Exhaust air + Exfiltration Air

a) Battery room

From SES-K-100 clause No. 10.11 the recommended air changes for the Battery room is 12. Hence
No. of air changes considered in the calculation is 12 AC/Hr. The detailed calculation of the Battery
room exhaust system is enclosed.
