Panama What makes it so easy to move here: For retirees, Panama rolls out the
red carpet in benefits. If you want to live in Panama City, you’ll find speaking
Spanish is not a requirement (although it is recommended that you learn at

being a hub for onward travel to anywhere in Latin America.

Residency: Residency in Panama is easy to acquire. If you get a written job

is yours. Panama’s pensionado program is the best, most-laden-with-

you get discounts on all sorts of services from doctor visits to movie tickets,
to domestic and international flights. And, should any future changes
occur to pensionado law, you are protected. Once a pensionado, always a

acquire Panamanian residency by that route, too.

From Colonial Splendor To White Sand Beaches,
Mazatlán Offers A Lifestyle That’s Right For You
By Lee Harrison
Mazatlán, Mexico, offers over 10 miles of sandy beaches, varying from bustling and energetic stretches alongside town to sections of isolated shoreline
getaways. Mazatlán’s beaches are accessible and its wide, new boardwalk is five miles long.

But Mazatlán is also a haven for Spanish colonial buffs who want to live near—or on—the ocean. Its historic center has enjoyed a major restoration
over the past 10 years and is now a source of pride for expats and locals alike.

Best of all, both the beach and colonial lifestyle offer countless fine-dining options, quiet coffee shops, energetic and friendly bars… as well as a
dynamic and active real estate market.

Here are a few more benefits we enjoy in Mazatlán…

A large and diverse expat community to help you feel at home.

An active live contemporary and classical music, theater, and arts scene—a great way to enjoy time with your friends and neighbors.

You can “go local”… or not. You can choose to live among expats, speak mostly English, and ease your way into Mazatlán aided by people who have
come before you. Or live in a Mexican environment, speak mostly Spanish, enjoy a lower cost of living, and immerse yourself in Mexico’s charming
culture.

Prices are great. Whether you’re dining out or buying a property, you’ll find prices are amazing at today’s exchange rates… property prices are low
compared to other beachfront markets around the world—including elsewhere in Mexico.

Home Depot, Sam’s Club, Walmart, Auto Zone… Mazatlán has local shops and Mexican supermarkets a-plenty, both big and small. But nothing beats a
Walmart or Home Depot for convenience.

Hundreds of us expats have settled in Mazatlán to enjoy its warm weather, active social scene, beautiful beaches, and stunning sunsets.

With convenient air service to the States and Canada, a safe highway to the American border, and all the amenities and services you could want,
Mazatlán could well be a good choice for you, too.

From Mazatlán’s best restaurants… to Mexico’s super-easy residency… to exciting nearby pueblos to explore… we’ll have all the details in next
month’s issue of Overseas Living Letter.
