TEACHER III

CANSINALA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Apalit, Pampanga

I. OBJECTIVES:

A. Content Standard

The learners demonstrate an understanding of how human activities affect the natural ecosystem

B. Performance Standard

The learners shall be able prepare an action plan containing mitigation measures to address current
environmental concerns and challenges in the community

C. Learning Competencies

The learners describe how different terrestrial and and aquatic ecosystems are interlinked with one
another

D. References

Earth and Life Science by Shila Rose D. Sia and Leah Amor S. Cortez pages 183-187

II. PROCEDURE

a. Reviewing previous lesson

Identify the different biotic potential and environmental resistance and briefly describe each

b. Establishing a purpose of the lesson

c. Presenting examples /instance of the new lesson

> Defining ecosystem

>Identifying the two classification of ecosystem such as terrestrial and aquatic

>Distinguishing between these two classes of ecosystem

d. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills

Presenting the different types of ecosystems and classify them as aquatic or terrestrial based on the
kind of organisms, characteristic and pictures given

e. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills ( deepening)

Explaining how one or more organism ( biotic ) and abiotic factors may affect another organism and
eventually another ecosystem

f. Developing Mastery ( Post Activity )

“The life story of the salmon “ a video presentation

Make an essay to show link of one aquatic ecosystem to another terrestrial ecosystem ( e.g. salmon and
bear )

g. Finding applications of concepts and skills in daily living ( application )

Mismanagement of wastes that may eventually affect both terrestrial and aquatic at the same time

h. Making generalizations and abstractions about the lesson

Concept map using metacards of concepts and pictures

i. Evaluating learning ( assessment )

Four Corners of the Classroom: A game where a particular characteristic, picture, organism or anything
related to a particular ecosystem will be flashed and students will go to that part of the room where the
ecosystem is assigned

j. Additional activities for application or remediation

A visit to such types of ecosystem if there’s any in the locality or making a Mini Ecosystem such as an
aquarium or terrarium in the school
