CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of Study


As an International language, English has an important role in international or
national relationship. In this modern era people demand to have more than one
language. Language as a tool of communication is considered importantly in daily
life. Communication in foreign language is a bridge to get information, knowledge,
and culture. It can be spoken or written.

1.2 Problem Statement


Unfortunately there are many mistakes in using same words in different field. They
did not realize that same words can be different in other field.

1.3 Objective of Study


The study is going to lead a people using or understanding right words properly both
written or spoken case related to computer

1.4 Benefit of the Study


There are many benefit, one of their is that they will be able to use and
understand the same words clearly and correctly according to the meaning of its field.
It is regarding to the word or term in computer.
CHAPTER II
UNDERLYING THEORY

2.1. Theories
People like to communicate do their work using computer some words or
terms in computer have different meaning with words in biology. They think the
words have same meaning. Consequently they will get trouble in using computer.
“Meaning is the link between the elements of language it self” Djaja Sudarma
(1993:5).
So the meaning of the words depend on the link between the element of language and
ofcourse the field it self.

2.2. Previous Study


According to (Ruslan, 2008 : 9-10) there are four problems in communication.
One of them is semantic problem. In ths case there is different meaning of the words
in computer than biology, transportation. As the result the users of computer will have
difficultly if they understand the word in term of computer.

RESEARCH METODOLOGY

3.1 Research Design


Many users of computer especially the beginner will consider certain part of
the computer like they know in term of biology or other term of certain field. One of
way to design research is by collecting data.

CHAPTER IV
FINDING AND DISCUSSION

4.1 Finding of the research


The data show that there are still many parts of computer that the students can
directly understand. They think mouse means a rat, keyboard is instrument of music,
burn equal to on fire etc.

4.2 Discussion
The study, there fore will have advantage to lead them in order to be able to
operate computer well. The understanding of word (semantic) will help them using
computer safely.
