Action - Reaction Forces

I. Objectives: After the activity, I will be able to:


1. identify the action and reaction forces in a given situation/event; and
2. compare the action and reaction forces in terms of magnitude and
direction.

II. Materials: Rubber ball

III. Procedure:

1. Place the rubber ball on the concrete floor. Observe if the ball will
move by itself as shown in Figure 1.

2. Hold the rubber ball at certain height as shown in Figure 2.


3. Release the ball and let it fall as shown in Figure 3.
4. Observe what happened to the rubber ball after hitting the concrete
floor as shown in Figure 4.

II. Analysis
1. When the rubber ball was placed on the concrete floor, did the ball
move by itself?

2. When the ball was released at certain height, what happened to the
ball after it hit the concrete floor?
