INTRODUCTION

How do I really understand myself? Who I really am?

Does my community really affects on who I am now?
"You are the only one who lives your life." according to
Simon Reynolds. "you might as well take control of the process
and visualize exactly what you want ”. You have the right to
decision for your self for the thing you are not want to be or
you want to be as yourself".( Simon Reynolds)
"This may be difficult to swallow. Society sucks sometimes.
It tells you what you should wear, how you should act, and who
you should believe or even be friends with. It's difficult to go
against what society believes because you are a part of society--
whether you like it or not. It's not something you can change.
It's not something that you get to choose. When you're in this
world, you are a part of society. The only choice you have is
whether to blend in or be your own person."( Abbie Mathison,
North Dakota State University2016)

How strong does their rights to dictate our wrongs instead

of praising the things that we know to ourselves correct. But we
cannot blame the surroundings it's because they've already seen
those dots that connect us from being individual which is also
consider to be influenced by our community or society. Try to
imagine, you did a mistake even you have already the knowledge
and wisdom, and then you repeated to do it for a second time.
That is the time that judgment of people is stubbed to us,
because we just saw our deeds as right or correct even we do it
wrong. We know that society gives the biggest contribution in
order for us to be whole and they are the first contributor of
knowing ourselves. The best way to understand ourselves is to
know the society we are living, who are the person surround us
and what are the things they do that we acquired and adapted to
them. To know ourselves start in knowing our society and our
society are just contributor and we don't have the right to
choose our belonged society because we already belong to it
instead we must think deeply if we want to be with them or the
our own self.
Commonalities
The commonalities between the gathered information from the
different respondents including the Teachers, College students,
SHS students and the School Faculty's staff. They stated all
positive benefits that they already acquired their different
society . Mostly of them stated the good traits, values or even
services that the community contributed to them in order for them
to looked good in the eyes of other . They also stated that in
understanding themselves , there’s a lot of thing that they
expected in the community that they can consider as an individual
which is dependent to it. In terms of the other traits and values
we had which is not contributed by our community , Is the desire
that we reach even though it is not 'us' as a being , Its because
of our eagerness to be good in the eyes of others all the time
but there are times that instead of giving them or make them
inspired and dedicated they're more complaining and not
appreciating the things we did after. And Respondents also stated
that what you have already awakened in this community , even you
didn't want to be part of that thing , you are not forced but you
unintentionally adapted those habitual things because you have no
choice and guidance in order to avoid instead you are being one
of them or being to that society . Judgement of people is based
on the community you belong and they looked at you in that way
because the saw commonalities between you and to your community.

Data Gathering

The following are stated by our respondents whom we ask the

question “How does the society affects you to understand yourself

“Since the community I belong here and we as a part of urban

community it affects me in terms of living ,mind setting, that's
why I’m still working here at DCC . Since the expenses fit the
cost of living me here in toril that’s affects me my decision in
life but somehow soon we will have some plan to help the sub
urban community its affect my personality also. “
“The community affects me to understand myself through influence
and also you adapt on what kind of community you have in which
you recognize or realize that you belong or understand where you
suitable to particular community , in adaption i can understand
also the tradition or culture of everyone that also affect my
learning.”
“ As a member of community it has always been my goal to study
hard and reach my wildest dream which is to become a teacher if
Ill become a teacher will be capable contributing the basically
from the facts paying as a professional . I’ve seen How hard the
situation our community is , especially I encounter out of school
youth " I will be more determined driven and inspired to study
harder to help them in the future that I believes the youth of
todays generation the hope of the future. “
“The community strikes me a big affects like discipline , respect
and .. we have differences of uniqueness with that it affects my
self and also everyone have different attitude so. Since we
cannot controlled them sometime there is judgement from the
others .”
“ When we say society its include you family friends or everyone
around you especially the community right ? So its affect me as
individual . Family first let say that the family is the basic
foundation . So usually or most of the influences is from the
family ok. Because they are the first who nurture to our self and
most of our being is from them . Second you have the environment
as we grow older we have influences with our friend from the
community where we lived in aside from that I think also include
the culture because culture is the influences also of our
development as individual.”
“The community affects me being myself since it is the some that
give influences on what to do or sometimes the society judge me
so that I will not be able to show who really I am”
“ For me as a teacher there are a lot of cases and situation that
really affect me as a teacher most especially in the society like
that they are expecting too much being perfect and one mistake
determine being a teacher and they cannot see the goodness that
you have given to them second they try to consult to complain
more rather that appreciating of the things that we have given to
them . Third maybe I recognized sad that teachers suffers
everything sleepless night and wake up early in the morning just
to teach the student so , wala pud me natagaan og kana gud
Emphasize. I am looking on how people judge me ,on how people
critique me and how people evaluate me”
“ It might influence me to become a good leader at the same time
to come a good person and contributor to a society in the
environment based on what you are example on family on how they
influence you.”
The society affects a lot because it influence me to show the
real who am I as a member of society and an element of culture
society affects the way I understand my self through the process
of socialization which is the learning process of human who is
originally a best to inculcate culture.

Conclusion
Therefore, we conclude that the community or society has a
big impact in everyone’s life and serves as a support system to
understand your self. Community is one of the big factors that
affects in our daily life especially to the student, teacher, or
even everyone around us and one of the dictator of our wrongs
that’s why community helps us to think and doing what is good or
bad decisions in life. Knowing the society is one of the best way
to deeply understand of knowing our self.
