CHAPTER 1

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

According to Vega ( ), at the heart of effective technology

integration, technology offers opportunities to be more actively involved in the

learning experience. As of today technology takes the center stage when it

comes to all forms of getting information especially in teaching-learning process

unlike the time before they get their needed information manually. They read

their books, going to the libraries, scan dictionaries, taking down the important

notes, and solving mathematical equations manually. Students were more

focused in studying before. Educational Technology was very helpful to every

teacher and students around the world. It already gave what the students

needed like information, the students can make presentation there too no need

to write in manila paper, the students can print out text easily and have a dozen

copy of it in just a second.

Technology is such an asset to any school. At the same time, the

impact of educational technology is still unknown. It would be useful to know

how the students respond in a positive and negative manner in participating in

the class when using such educational technologies. In the crisis situation, the

educational technology is very helpful for grade 12 students knowledge

nowadays. However, the researchers noticed that some of the students used

educational technology in a wrongful manner. They use technology

uncontrollable to the point they forgot their responsibilities as a student and as a

child such as doing school works and household chores, when it comes to school

home works some of the students were not focused on what they were

searching, and they just depend on what will educational technology gave

without checking if the information was legit or reliable. In other words, students

make the educational technology as a hindrance in their studying.

It is with the above premise that the researchers opted to write on this

research entitled “THE IMPACT OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY ON THE
