My name is..... today I want to tell you about ‘Hansel and Gratel’ do you know who is Hansel and
Gratel?
Hansel and Gretel is a popular fairy tale of German origins. It is about a young brother and sister
kidnapped by cannibalistic which living deep in the forest in a housed constructed of cake and
confectionery.

Do you want to know more the story? Well, let me begin the story.
Once upon a time, a very poor woodcutter lived with his son and daughter, Hansel and Gretel. One
day he remarried, but his new wife really didn’t like the children.
“we don’t have enough food. We can’t live together! Take them into the forest!” said their
stepmother.
The next morning, their father led Hansel and Gretel away into the forest.
“Hurry up! Let’s go on a picnic!”
As they went into the forest, Hansel dropped little pebbles here and there.
“wait here,” said their father, but he didn’t come back.
“I’m hungry and I want to go home! Gretel began to cry.
Don’t cry, Gretel! Dont worry!” said Hansel.
Luckily, the moon was full that night. Thanks to the little pebbles, the children could find their way
home.
The next day, their stepmother found that Hansel and Gretel had returned . she got angry at them
and made her husband take the children into the forest.
“we don’t have enough food . we can’t live together! Take them into the forest right now!’ said the
stepmother.
The next morning, the woodcutter led Hansel and Gretel away into the forest.
“hurry up! Let’s go on a picnic!”
As they want into the forest, Hansel dropped bread crumbs here and there. Unfortunately, the little
boy forgot about the hungry birds in the forest.
“wait here,” said their father, but he didn’t come back.
When night fell, they saw to their horror that all the crumbs had gone.
“I’m hungry and I want to go home!” Gretel began to cry
“don’t cry, Gretel! Don worry!” said Hansel. But he was also hungry and scared.
All night the two children huddled togethet for warmth. The next morning, Hansel and Gretel tried
to find their home, but they were lost in the forest. They found a cookie house instead.
“this chocolate!’ said Gretel
“ Great! Isn’t this delicious?” hansel declared
Suddenly the door opened and old witch came out.
“come inside and eat more delicious cookies! Oh you’re nothing but skin and bones!” said the old
witch.
The children were so scared, but they were too hungry to say no.
But the old witch locked Hansel inside the cage. And she had Gretel do housework all day long.
“Gretel, give some food to your brother. When he gets plump, I will eat him up.”
When the old witch came to see Hansel every morning, he showed her a chicken bone instaed.
One day, the old witch grew tired of wiating.
“let me feel young finger, oh you’re still much too thin! When will you become plump? She
complained. She couldn’t wait any longer.
“Light the oven and tell me when it’s ready,’ the old witch told Gretel!. When the old witch came
closer to the oven, Gretel pushed her into it.
“ Aaaaakkkk!!!
Gretel opened the cage doors and freed her brother, Hansel.
“Hansel, we are saved! The old witch is dead.”
The children hugged each other and cried for joy. They filled their pockets with gold from the witch’s
treasure chest and food for their journey.
“ Hurry up! Let’s go home now! Said Hansel
The children finally found their way home. Their parefnts who were ill and starving came out to
greet them. They were amazed when they saw so many food and gold . so the woodcutter and his
wife were never hungry again and neither were Hansel and Gretel.
This story teaches many lesson to children. But the most important lesson of all is not to trust
strangers, even they treat you well.
