B777 – FFS ASSESSMENT GUIDE
TYPE RATED and NON-TYPE RATED
Introduction
The Recruitment Full Flight Simulator Assessment guide contains syllabus intended to
be used as part of the evaluation process for Type or Non-Type Rated Flight Deck
Crew applying for a pilot’s position in Qatar Airways.
Additionally, it contains the related operational documentation required for the
assessment, including Performance, Weather data and Operational Flight Plan.
JEPPESEN charts will be provided in simulator premises.
There will be NO post session debriefing and the candidates will be allowed to use
previous airline NOP’s (SOP) but should adhere to Qatar Airways Stabilization Criteria
given below to determine level of awareness.
STABILIZATION CRITERIA
Landing Gear Down and landing flaps selected by 1500ft.
VISUAL APPROACH – Cues that require a significant correction to achieve the correct
flight path
Pre-requisites
Any pilots assigned to be evaluated in the Full Flight Simulator should have passed
Technical and Human Resource interview.
Objectives
The objective of the Full Flight Simulator assessment is to evaluate each candidate in
the main areas of competences, such as level of communications, Airmanship,
situational awareness, decision making and manual handling skills.
In addition to the above, knowledge of aircraft system and automation will be evaluated
for the type rated applicants.
Proficiency Criteria
Candidate will need to reach the level of proficiency required by Qatar Airways
requirements given at the end of this leaflet.
Please refer to backside of pilot evaluation form for more information of required
tolerances.
Time Table
Each candidate will be detailed for an assessment session of one hour which may
include;
Normal take-off procedure.
Normal Climb procedure.
At least one abnormal procedure.
Descend and approach procedures.
Normal landing procedures.
OEI ILS approach (none type rated).
Visual approach (none type rated).
One Instrument approach (ILS) RAW DATA. (AP & FD OFF). (type rated).
One Non-Precision Approach (NPA). (AP & FD available). (type rated).
One Engine Failure After Take Off procedure (EFATO).
One Go Around will be included into the syllabus.
NOTE: auto throttles will be available at all times.
Crew Complement
The assessment session is designed in two halves to accommodate four trainees
(maximum two applicant in each half). Each applicant shall be given maximum one
hour.
Each assessment session will be detailed with the crew required by the recruitment
team.
