Greeting
Teacher : Assalamu’alaikum wr. wb.
Students : Wa’alaikumsalam wr. Wb.
Teacher : Good Morning, students.
Students : Good Morning, mam.
Teacher : How do you do?
Students : I’m fine, and you?
Teacher : Very well thank you.
I hope you enjoy and keep spirit to follow this lesson today.
But before we start the lesson today, lets pray together.
Okay Dwi S, lead your friends for pray together.
Dwi S : Okay friend, before we start our lesson, lets pray together. Pray begin. Finish.
Teacher : Who isn’t attend in this class today?
Students : No one mam.
Teacher : Ok I’ll check it. (checking attendance). That’s very good.

Motivation & Apreception

Teacher : Okay students, today we will study chemistry matter, on the previous
material you have studied the material about acid-base. Who still remembers
what is acidic bases?
Nurus : Me mam, according to the theory of Arrhenius Acid is a property which is a
compound which can release hydrogen ions (H+) when dissolved in water,
Teacher : Any other opinion ?
Diyah : Me mam, Base is a property which is a compound which can release
hydroxide ions (OH-) if dissolved in water.
Teacher : that’s great, if seen from its characteristic, is there anything other opinion ?
Arni : me mam, there are strong acid, weak acid, strong base and weak base.
Teacher : That's great. My students have high memory. So acid can release H + while
the base can release OH- if in the water. Who can give you an Example?
Devita : Me mam, HCl is strong acid, CH 3COOH is weak acid, NaOH is strong base
and NH4OH is weak base.
Teacher : That's great Devita. Okay student, please look this picture. What do you
think about this picture? Anyone know? Please raise your hand.
Aisyatur : me mam, That picture’s tells about the farmer give manure in the wet rice
field.
Teacher : Does anyone know the compounds contained in the manure?
Students : I don’t know mam.
Teacher : If this picture, do you have any opinion, what is this picture?
Indah : Me mam, it was a picture of wash clothes by using bleaching.
Teacher : Yes. That’s great. Do you know what compounds are contained in the
bleaching?
Students : I don’t know mam.
Teacher : Well, to find out, we will study the compound today. In this lesson I hope
you can.... (learning objectives)
1. Student can identify characteristics of concept.
2. Student can mention the concept of based on characteristics correctly.
3. Student can define the concept correctly.
4. Student can analyze the compounds belonging properly.

Teacher : Please help me to distributed the worksheet to your friends. I’ll divide into 2
groups, right side and left side. After you get the worksheet please open page
3 “open-ended phase”. Look at this (pointing the slide). Right side will doing
the example task and left side will doing the non-example task. Discuss it
then answer by your knowledge.
Students : Yes mam.
Teacher : have done?
Students : yes, mam.
Teacher : From the right side, who want to answer this example question?
Arum : me mam
Teacher : The first is Arum, write your example answer in white board.
Arum : (write in the white board) finish mam.
Teacher : Okay thank you Arum. Then who want to answer this non-example
question? from the left side
Arni : me mam
Teacher : Arni, write your non-example answer in white board.
Arni : (write in the white board) finish mam.
Teacher : Attention please.
How’s the example and non-example from your friend’s answer?
Is that correct?
Students : yes mam. That’s correct.
Teacher : Your answer are correct. The characteristics on example is reaction of acid
and base, it is salt, reaction of cation and anion, That’s great.
Please, open your worksheet on next page (phase 2 : convergent).
From the characteristic in phase 1, we can analyze the characteristic of
example and non example with doing phase 2. You can determine the special
characteristic of example by compare with non-example.
I give you 5 minutes to do it.
Teacher : Any difficult student? (walking around the students)
Students : No, mam
Teacher : finish?
Students : yes mam
Teacher : okay, are there any students to write the answer in white board?
Diyah : me mam
Teacher : yeah you do the example answer. And who want to the answer non-example?
Aisyatur : me mam
Teacher : oh okay you do the non-example answer.
(student 5 and 6 come forward to write their answer)
Teacher : Look at the white board please, what do you think about your friends
answer?
Students : that’s correct mam.
Teacher : who want to explain the characteristic between example and non-example?
Dwi S : me mam. Based on the table we can analyze the characteristic of example is
salt that have reaction of strong acid and weak base, weak acid and strong
base or weak acid and weak base because in non-example it have reaction of
strong acid and strong base.

Teacher : that’s great Dwi S, so based on the table we can eliminate the characteristic
of example from phase 1 one by one, and than, we can conclude the special
characteristic of example is salt that have reaction of strong acid and weak
base, weak acid and strong base or weak acid and weak base.
(Teacher 2)
Teacher : lets continue to the next page (phase 3 : closure). Do the phase 3 questions so
you can know what is the concept of our lesson today and make your
definition from the special characterictic of example based on your opinion.
I’ll give you 10 minutes.
Students : Yes, Mam
Teacher : (walking around students) ok class finish?
Sudents : Finish mam.
Teacher : may be there are anyone to explain the answer?
Tiara : me mam
Teacher : Ok Tiara, let’s explain your answer
Tiara : in my opinion the characteristic of example is have reaction of strong acid
and weak base, weak acid and strong base or weak acid and weak base, so I
think that is salt hydrolysis. Salt hydrolysis is salt that formed from strong
acid and weak base, weak acid and strong base or weak acid and weak base
reaction

Teacher : that’s Great tiara, you find the concept. The concept that we learn today is
salt hydrolysis. Salt hydrolysis is salt that formed from strong acid and weak
base, weak acid and strong base or weak acid and weak base reaction. Any
other answer, students?
Students : no mam
Teacher : so we can conclude the definition of this concept is (look at the slide)
After that, open the next page (phase 4: aplication). This is the finish of phase
to test you after get new knowledge in today. I will give you 5 minutes to
working this phase, and you can discuss with your friends or asked me to
understand this lesson. Warning, don’t be cheating !!! Ok student, do you
understand?
Students : yes, mam...
Teacher : Are you finish student?
Students : yes mam..
Teacher : to answer this question you have to answer with your paper. After i say the
compound you must answer it’s example or non-example with showing up
your paper highly. This is the place of your answer reaction and then explain
your answer. Ready?
Students : Ready mam
Teacher : Ok Let’s start. NH4CH3COO
(student showing up the paper of answer)
Teacher : Yes you Devita, you answer is example. Come to react then explain it.
Devita : NH4CH3COO is example because it’s reaction of weak acid and weak base
so it’s salt hydrolisis
Teacher : your answer is correct and your explain is very good, I will give you special
reward. Then the second is MgCl2
(student showing up the paper of answer)
Teacher : Uli, you answer is non-example. Come to react then explain it.
Uli : MgCl2 is non-example because it’s reaction of strong acid and strong base so
it isn’t salt hydrolisis
Teacher : your answer is correct and your explain is very good, I will give you special
reward. Then the third is KBr
(student showing up the paper of answer)
Teacher : Indah, you answer is non-example. Come to react then explain it.
Indah : KBr is non-example because it’s reaction of strong acid and strong base so it
isn’t salt hydrolisis
Teacher : your answer is correct and your explain is very good, I will give you special
reward. Then fourth question is KCN
(student showing up the paper of answer)
Teacher : Nurus, you answer is example. Come to react then explain it.
Nurus : KCN is example because it’s reaction of weak acid and strong base so it’s
salt hydrolisis
Teacher : your answer is correct and your explain is very good, I will give you special
reward. Then fifth question is NaNO3
(student showing up the paper of answer)
Teacher : Arum, you answer is non-example. Come to react then explain it.
Arum : NaNO3 is non-example because it’s reaction of strong acid and strong base
so it isn’t salt hydrolisis
Teacher : your answer is correct and your explain is very good, I will give you special
reward. Then fifth question is NaNO3
(student showing up the paper of answer)
Teacher : Arni, you answer is example. Come to react then explain it.
Arni : Na2S is example because it’s reaction of weak acid and strong base so it’s
salt hydrolisis
Teacher : your answer is correct and your explain is very good, I will give you special
reward. We have already learn about salt hydrolysis that have reaction of
strong acid and weak base, strong base and weak acid or weak acid and weak
base. For example, MgCl2, NaCH3COO and NH4CN. Ok that’s all our lesson
today. Any question?
Students : no mam.
Teacher : Got it?
Students : yes mam.
Teacher : Dwi S, Can you lead to pray together?
Dwi S : Ok friends before finish our lesson today, let’s pray together, pray begin,
pray finish.
Teacher : Thank you Dwi S. Ok students, Thanks for your spirit today. I’m so happy to
teach you.
And don’t forget to do your homework. See you on next meeting.
Wassalamu’alaikum wr. wb.
