ASSIGNMENT 1

(August 1st – August 15th)

Lyrical Conversation 1 – “Kaleidoscopic Views”

Janani:
The game of life, exciting yet unpredictable,
two roles to play, you choose, Cain or Abel.
The road ahead meanders with an obstacle at each curve,
up to you, to desist or tackle with verve.

Sandhya:
Cain or Abel, or Jesus's twelfth apostle
Two roles are far too less a number..
But if it boiled down to two,
Who would you rather be?

Just as many obstacles there are

Are the number of miracles waiting to happen
Depending on how you see the world,
That's precisely how it comes unfurled..

Janani:
As righteous as Abel,
to strive hard to be pure and noble;
To accept any upcoming miracle or obstacle,
and to manifest humanity to it's very pinnacle.

Sandhya:
What's your take on righteousness?
What's pure and impure?
Why is the striving for nobility?
What's a miracle after all?
This acceptance that you speak of,
Oh, that divine bliss...
That's an answer of the universe,
To questions of everything amiss!

Janani:
A virtue so right - a model of rectitude,
With a heart that beats solely with purity and joy, never blued.
To live a life driven by moral principles,
sophisticated, yet so simple.

Sandhya:
Does morality help when life is in full flow?
Isn't humanity enough to let the joy grow?
To keep life glam on the outside and green inside?
To keep it shimmerin' on the cover,
and simple at the crux!
Lyrical Conversation 2 – “Sifting through Sands of Life”

Janani:
What according to you is life in full flow?
The sweet course of success,
Or the occasional mix of blows?
The plentiful fruits of success that we reap,
Although the journey strenuous;
And the lessons learnt, perpetual and deep.

Sandhya:
Life is but a consequence of our actions
Successes and blows, an outcome of the same…
Tis’ for us to choose, to make our own concoctions
After all, tis’ the biggest game!
The journey strenuous
We manage to make of it
While it can also be joyous
If we keep our body and mind fit...

Janani:
A whole package that life is, in a nutshell,
The valuable lessons learnt and many a story to tell,
The secret to living life to its very end,
Is to brush off the past and live in the present.

Sandhya:
Standing afar a desert, all you see is fine sand
The insects, the life, the movement all blurred to the naked eye.
When you get down to join its merry band,
You see that the fineness is just a lie!
Janani:
Portrayed simple, yet so complex that life is,
The overall experience, enthralling and bliss,
Every nook and corner of nature has something to teach,
Like, as fierce as the sun and as calm as the beach.

Sandhya:
It indeed is simple but for some, complex,
It can sometime seem playful and yet sometimes perplex!
It sometimes seems to be a boon and sometimes just like a hex,
At the end it’s not just about our reaction, but also our reflex!

Janani:
An intricate plan for us that the universe has woven,
Trust your intuition and believe that you are the one chosen!
Every chapter that passes by – never to recur,
Take life as your vehicle, you being the chauffeur!
