Notch Toughness / Charpy Tests to ASTM A370.

Use standard full-sized specimens where possible. Where this is not possible, then
choose the next largest subsized specimens that could be extracted from the material.
Tensile Tests
Please ensure that the overall length of ALL tensile specimens are such that each grip
portion of the specimen is at least 100 mm (4 in) long. This is to ensure that our tensile
tester would be able to properly grip the specimen while testing.

Tensile Test on Tubular Products (ASTM A500)

Length of Each Grip Portion ≥ 4 in (100 mm)

Use Specimen No. 4 as default with Gauge Length (Dimension C) of 2 in.

If material is too small for this, then only go to the subsized specimens, choosing the
largest subsize possible.
