Terms and Conditions of Business

1. Callers We are always pleased to receive callers at our stores during business hours of 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings from 10 am to 12.30 pm. Payment at our stores counter can be made by cash, credit card or cheque, but unless arrangements have been made in advance, all cheques must be accompanied by the appropriate bankers card and can only be accepted for the value coveredbythiscard. Would members of the Motor Trade please note that business cheques are not normally covered by a bankers card and therefore unless prior arrangements have been made, payment must be made bybank draft, cashorcreditcard.

2. PricesandVAT Carriage and packing charges are not included in prices shown on the Price List. Please note that VAT is payable on the cost of goods and carriage/packing charges within the EC.

Overseas callers please note that VAT must be paid on goods collected, but we can provide a special form which must be stamped by Customs at the port of exit or entry. This can then be returned to us for refundoftheVAT.

3. Payment General Payment with order by cheque, credit card or cash by Registered Post please. We can also accept credit card orders by telephone. Cheques to be made payable to: NTGMotor Services Ltd. Overseas customers should refertooverseas payment details below.

4. Payment MailOrder Overseas We can process your order immediately if payment is made by International Money Order, Eurocheque, cash by Registered Post or STERLING BANK DRAFT on an English branch of your bank, who will arrange this on request. This should be made payable to NTG Motor Services Ltd and sent direct to us with the order. We can also accept mail and telephone orders on Credit Cards Access, Interbank, Barclaycard (Visa), Mastercharge, Eurocard, Bank Americard. Payment can also be made via bank transfer to: Lloyds Bank PLC, 13 Cornhill, Ipswich, IP1 lDG. Sort Code: 30-94-55. Account No. 2848113.

Eurocheques and Cheques on Overseas Banks. Please note that Eurocheques can only be accepted for immediate payment if their value does not exceed £700. The Eurocard Number must be quoted on the back of these cheques. It is acceptable to send more than one cheque to make up the value of a larger order.

Eurocheques over £700 and all other cheques on an overseas bank are subject to bank clearance charges and variations in exchange rates. This usually results in a delay of up to 3 weeks before the final value can be obtained, so please allow for this if payment ismade this way.

5. Non-Deliveries and Discrepancies Unless U.K. Customers have been advised to the contrary it is essential that we are informed of non delivery within 21 days of placing theorder, as Carriers will not accept liability unlessnotification is made within this period. Any such loss not made known becomes the consignee’s liability. Overseas customers should allow eight weeks from sending their order (surface mail) or three weeks (airmail). Any discrepanciesindeliveries shouldbe reported within 7 days of receipt.

6. Damaged Goods Should you be unfortunate and receive goods that have been damaged in transit, it is important that you retain all packaging materials intact and advise us immediately in writing of the extent of the damage. Packaging material must be made available for inspection by the carriers. Under no circumstances should any damaged article or packaging be returned to us unless you are instructed. See also under“returns”.

7. Returns If parts are sent to you which are faulty or incorrect we will rectify the problem. However, to ensure our prompt attention please observe the following:

charge. In all othercases, a handling charge will bemade.

Unless customers follow the above procedure, we reserve the right to refuse delivery of returned goods. Parcels from overseas in particular may be subject to extra customs and freight charges. They should in any case be marked “Goods of U.K. origin, returned faulty.”

c. All components carry a normal and reasonable warranty but

claims are limited to the valueofthepart.

8. Large Items These will be despatched by road transport to inland addresses. As it is not usually practical to send small items in the same package, an additional charge must be paid. This will be approximately double the price of the equivalent postal charge. Large items for overseas destinations can be despatched by sea or airfreight and we can quote

accordingly on request.

9. Exchange Items We regret that we must insist on receipt of old units before any items marked “Exchange” in the catalogue or price list can be supplied as it is necessary for us to check whether such parts are original and in repairable condition. Cash deposits are not acceptable as replacement parts are usually unobtainable. Old units sent for exchange should be clearly labelled with customers name, address and customer number where applicable. Overseas customers should mark parcels containing exchange items “Goods of U.K. origin returned for repair.”

10. Trades Description Act We have made every effort to ensure that all descriptions used in our catalogues comply with the above act. However, should customers feel that there is a discrepancy of any kind, we would request that the matter bebrought to ourattention.

conjunction with Barry Naunton and Clive Tanner - hence “NTG”. So it is true to say that to this day Mike has

only invested £5 in the company!

 

The three original partners sold off the TA parts, bought other MG’s for dismantling and launched a range of new spares. Barry and Clive left around 1970 to pursue other careers andMikewasjoinedbyhisbrother-in-law, Dick Bird, who retired in 1999.

 

The company is now run in conjunction with Co-Director

Paul Banyard

who has been with the firm since the

early 1980s. Paul represents the next generation ensuring that NTG continues into the 21st Century. humble beginnings, NTG has grown into a major supplier ofMGspares.
