SAFETY EQUIPMENT QUESTIONNAIRE

1) Describe all the procedures in place in the Watt Hangar to ensure hand
protection during practical work.

a. Barrier Cream.

b. Two types of protective gloves PVC and Latex.

c. Special hand cleaning pastes supplied in washrooms.

d. After care hand cream in dispensers.

2) Eye Wash Bottles are available at various locations around Watt Hangar. State
the rules for their use.

a. The bottles have a shelf life and each bottle in the stowage must be in date.

b. The seal must be unbroken.

c. Ensure solution is clear and that there is no obvious loss of the contents.

d. Ensure personnel are briefed on hot to open/use these bottles before there is
an urgent need.

3) What are the precautions you must take before operating a CO2 drench system
to extinguish a fire in an engine module?

a. Evacuate personnel.

b. Alarm should be activated automatically but if not use manual override.

c. Trip engine.

d. Crash stop ventilation.

e. Close ventilation flaps.

f. Operate CO2 drench.

g. Isolate fuel and air.

4) As an Officer in charge of the refrigeration machinery in Morrel Block what
precautions will you ensure are posted on your refrigerated food storage facilities and
why?

a. Actions to be taken when a red warning light illuminates due to a person


being trapped inside.

b. Actions to be taken if unconscious casualty found inside storage room.
