1. Secondary stresses: Analyze a bottom reinforced panel of the fishing vessel Polar, between
bulkheads 6 and 9, with the program Grillage.
Consider the pressure as uniform and estimate its value using DNV rules for ships with
length less than 100 m (2015 version), for a draft equal to 70% of depth. Consider also that
the ship hold is empty. For the calculation of inertia and anrea, deduce the corrosion
allowance of each element following DNV recommendation. Also using the above mentioned
reference calculate the efficiency of the plate for girders and stiffeners. All edges are to be
assumed as clamped.

Plot for a longitudinal stiffener, the distribution of shear force and bending moment as function
of the longitudinal position. Calculate and plot the distribution of normal stress in the flange of
the stiffener. Also, for one of the girders, prepare the same plots with the distributions as
function of the transverse position. Finally plot the deflection of the whole panel in 3
dimensions.

- The pressure using the standard DNV, in the bottom panel is 35.87 kN/m^2 assuming uniformly
distributed.
- The efficiency of the reinforcement forces is 33% for the longitudinal ones and 52% for the transverse
ones, which can be interpreted that the longitudinal ones, being the secondary reinforcements, will be more
united, therefore the load will be distributed more in these, the main reinforcements are in which the
secondary ones will be supported.
- When analyzing the longitudinal reinforcement we see that the shear force is constant in the nodes where
the reinforcements intersect, the bending moment has a parabolic tendency where maximums of 3.23E+4 N
and 2.82 Nm respectively were registered.
- The transverse reinforcements, their moment in x has a maximum registered of 4.09 Nm and shear force of
3.23E+4N, being many the same as the secondary reinforcements analyzed.
- Greater deformation is observed in the centre of the plate 4.44E-4 mm, in addition it is noted that it is very
low with respect to the tamos of the reinforcements.
2. Transverse strength: Analyze the bending moment distribution of a complete transverse
frame structure of the fishing vessel Polar using the program PFrame. Consider frame #5
of the ship in the same conditions as problem 1. On the deck apply a reasonable load, and
carefully explain your considerations in the report. Representt th longitudinal bulkhead as
one element connecting deck and bottom. To calculate sectional area and inertia, take the
hull plate width as 100% effective in the frame space, and deduce DNV corrosion allowance
of each element. With the results, prepare a plot of the bending moment on the section.
Calculate and plot the normal stress on the flange around the section.

The frame number five of the fishing vessel POLAR I, which was divided into 13 elements as
can be seen. It is observed that on the deck there is shit corresponding to the weight of the
fishing nets.

Considering the corrosion factor we have the following results for the structural detail we have
the following information for each JOIN of the frame.
Summary of results for each JOIN.

In order to estimate the load, the pressure for each element was first determined using the
formulation given by DNV in question 1 with the following.

By forcibly converting, the load per area is held in each element:

The external load on each joint by the effect of pressure:

In order to analyze the section, the information determined above is used and it is ordered forming
the block for PFRAME as it can be observed.

You have the following results.

It is observed that in the elements 9, 10 and 11 of the frame there is a greater displacement we
notice that these elements are located at the bottom of the boat where the pressure load is on these
elements.
