The leave details (considering different types of leave) of the faculty must be available. The faculty must be able to take any type of leave (casual, medical, sabbatical, maternity) as per the rules and this must be updated in the leave records. Students can also apply for leave (including duty leave), enter leave details and forwarded to class advisor for approval. The leave can also be extended on special request. The application for a type of leave can include the purpose of taking leave like official (attending the conferences/workshops etc) or personal (marriages). This application can be approved on the basis of different criteria including uploading proofs like conference brochure, certificates etc. 2. Achievements The system must be able to keep track of the achievements of faculty and students. The faculty/ Students can update the profile when he/she attends a conference/workshop/other events like sports, go for internship, or publish a paper. The details of this must be entered including the date of attending, the travel allowance and registration allowance granted etc. This allowance has to be approved by the authority. The accounts details must also be stored. The proofs of the same including photographs, certificates, cash money information etc. can be shown. Based on this data, the students and faculty can be awarded on the achievers day. 3. Events management System The university conducts various events in the campus. The system must keep track of the events, the coordinators involved, the venue details and its availability, the duration, the participants, the requirements like photography/video and person to be assigned for this, material to be projected on screen, assets required like AC, PCs, writing pads with joysticks, lab requirement, software installation details, purchase information, total amount spend etc. Participant feedback may also be collected. 4. Kalotsavam The system must be able to store the details of events, schedules, participation, scores, judges, venues, winners. 5. Railways The system must be able to show the details of trains with classes, source and destination, schedules, passengers, reservation, cancellation, other facilities like catering, wheelchair booking, retiring room booking etc. 6. Airport system Information like the schedule (arrival, departure) of domestic and international flights at different terminals, passenger booking tickets are to be maintained. List of operating airlines are stored. Crew details of each flight may be also noted. Other facilities for passengers include prepaid taxi, medical aid, cloak room etc. 7. Music Store System The database is built for the clerks and the managers from a Music store. Customers can order by phone or by email. The clerk must be able to find the right album and place the order of this album. The project includes: • Add, delete and update Customer information • Add, delete, and update information about the album, artists and songs. • Insert new and change a customer order. Only a registered customer can place orders. There are many artists whose details like id, name and address are to be maintained. Each album recorded has an id, title, copyright date and format. Each song has a title and an author. Each album has a number of songs and no song can appear in more than one album. Each song is performed by one or more musicians and a musician can perform a number of songs. Design a database system for the music store to maintain all the data conveniently and efficiently. 8. Board Exams The CBSE conducts examinations for 10th Standard students. For this the board allocates examiners for answer sheet valuation. The details of the examiners such as examiner name, examiner’s school, qualification, subject etc are maintained. An examiner evaluates many answer sheets each identified by answer book id, student_roll_number, mark assigned etc. An answer sheet is valued by only one examiner. An examiner is also allocated to a school for invigilation. A school has many examiners as invigilators. A school is identified by school id, school name and location. Design a database system for the Board to maintain all the data conveniently and efficiently.
9. House boat Management
An agency keeps track of house boats, its owners and the customers who rented it. An owner identified by owner number, name and city can have many house boats and a house boat is owned by only 1 person. A house boat is identified by an id, name and capacity (number of people it can hold). A customer can rent many house boats and a house boat can be rented by many customers on different dates. Design a database system for the Agency to maintain all the data conveniently and efficiently.
10. Census Duty
Teachers of government schools are assigned census duty during their vacation period. A teacher is assigned census duty to a set of locations. A location is assigned to a teacher. A location has many houses. A house is present in a particular location. A Teacher is identified by his/her school id, name, and designation. A location is identified by an id, name, city, and district. A house is identified by a number, name, name of owner of the house, number of members in the house. Design a database system for duty tracking to maintain all the data conveniently and efficiently. 11. Election Duty An officer is assigned election duty to a polling station. A polling station has many officers assigned. An elector makes his vote at a particular polling station and a polling station is associated with many electors. Each officer is identified by an id, name and role like returning officer, registration officer, polling officer, presiding officer etc. A polling station is identified by an id, name, area and ward. An elector is identified by his/her serial number in the electoral roll, name. Design a database system for duty tracking to maintain all the data conveniently and efficiently. 12. Asset Management General Administration Department provides various types of assets such as furnitures, electric equipments, etc. in the staff room as well as individual cabin of the faculty members of our college. It has various service staff for this purpose. Each faculty member can place requests for service. Based on the type of request, the GAD staff is assigned the task of providing the materials. The personal details of the requester as well as the GAD staff is maintained such as id, name,phone no. and department to know which person reqeusted the service and who addressed the issue. A person can place one or more requests at a time. The stock and cost of each asset is to be maintained, to know the availability of the materials and initiate the purchasing if required.
