III. COLLEGE VISION and MISSION

We, the College of Arts and Sciences-Teacher Education-Information Technology (CASTEIT) of Saint Louis College of the City of San Fernando, La
Union, commit to foster Christian education that enhances total human formation and development responsive to the demands of the changing times by
empowering the youth with the CICM Missionary spirit through excellent instruction, relevant researches, and sustainable extension programs.

IV. PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES:

The General Education is offered to all students of the degree programs such as teacher education, business education, arts and sciences,
engineering and architecture.

After finishing the General Education program, the graduates should be able to:

1. Apply foundational knowledge and practical skills in various learning contexts;


2. Communicate effectively in oral and written forms using varied medium through critical and analytical thinking;
3. Exhibit scientific process skills in dealing with various learning tasks in their chosen field of specialization;
4. Employ numerical knowledge and skills in solving multidisciplinary problems;
5. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills of wellness in their respective field of specialization;
6. Analyze events and situations related to oneself and their respective fields;
7. Perform the different scope (music, visual, dance and literature) of arts capturing social issues;

XII. COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is offered to all degree programs. The course addresses the grammar needs of freshmen who
need to develop mastery in the use of the English language. The lessons are grouped according to the relations words have for each
other in sentence construction and word order as well.

XIII. COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES: After finishing Fundamentals of Grammar, the students should be able to:
a. Communicate effectively in oral and written forms using varied mediums through critical and analytical thinking;
b. Explore on the significance and functions of prepositions;
c. Recognize the grammar points in communication specifically in getting and giving information: noun and its types, functions, and
plural forms;
d. Recognize pronoun usage and use appropriate pronouns in various communicative tasks;
e. Analyze the Subject-Verb-Agreement in sentences (SVA) vis-à-vis the rules and apply them in various communicative tasks;
f. Recognize the functions of adjectives and use appropriate adjectives in various communicative tasks;
g. Explore the different functions of phrases and clauses;
h. Discern the sentences according to meaning and according to structure; and
i. Construct effective and grammatically correct sentences and formulate different forms of questions.
