CHAPTER V

SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION

System Development

This section describes the programming language tools that have been used to develop Supply

Inventory System. PHP language is used to develop the system and Poster page to help the system

interfaces become more interesting and easy to use.

Coding

Coding is the process of turning design of the system into specific instructions that the computer system

can understand and execute. The system has been using PHP script, XAMPP for the database and

notepad++ in coding.

System security

The system security is very essential especially that the data is very confidential. This is to prevent

unauthorized users from using the system. The administrator must login first. For security only, for the

administrator or inventory handler can have access to the system.

Available Features on the Supply Inventory System

No Statement Available
.
1 Administrator able to login to the system.

2 Administrator can access, control the system.

3 Administrator can add new record on the system.

4 Administrator can delete record on the system.

5 Administrator can update record on the system.

6 The system able to compute total cost of items.

7 Administrator can search records by date.

27
8 Administrator can print the records by date or not by date.

Interface Design

Supply Inventory System’s User Interface design mainly evolves in the usage of dashboards of the

user. The design was made for the user for them to become more comfortable in using it.

Screen Images

Home Page
To login first, the user must input the username and password that the system requires.

28
Main Page

After the user login, the user may now proceed to the main page of the system and can choose any

of those buttons of non-consumable, consumable or the user can also view the reports of purchases and

releases.

29
Add new

This screen image shows the requirements on how to add new purchase it will show after clicking

the add new in non-consumable or consumable button.

30
Non-consumable Page

In non-consumable page the user can select the add new button, can view the received items or can

add stock in receive items. The user will be able to update the items or delete the stocks in a specific

number or quantity.

Add Stock

This page shows after clicking add stock, the user must input the following details that requires to

answer in order to save the informations.

must fill up the following details that requires to answer.

32
Releases
This page shows the summary of releases that the user input.

Stocks

In this page the user will be able to release the stock that the office requested. Then the user can

also view the summary of the remaining stocks in supply office.

Implementation

The programmer and researcher installed the XAMPP for the database of the system. After the

installation they tested the system to configure if there’s an error. After the reinstallation to confirm that

there’s no error we tested again, until we ensure that the system is running and ready to use by the supply

officer.

CHAPTER VI
RESULTS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Result

There are problems that Supply Office encountered. One of it is that, their records needs to see the

reports with specific date. The solution to these problems is to make Supply Inventory System. Making

this system can minimize their time period and can help them process their inventory easily. The system

can add, delete data’s and search data’s through the dates. The inventory consist of the list of the products,

the quantity and its price. While the transaction process consist of inputting data such as the Item name,

Item price and the quantity of the product, also the total amount of it. By clicking the submit button, it will

then, calculate the products that entered. The list of the products can also print by the user and it can also

print by month or by year of the products.

Conclusion

The inventory system for Supply Office is therefore concluded as a success in making a system

that meets the office requirements. “Supply Inventory System” software developed for Supply Office has

been design to achieve maximum efficiency and reduce the time taken to handle the Inventory. It is design

to replace an existing manual record system thereby reducing time taken for calculations and for storing

data. The system uses PHP and XAMPP as a backend for the database.

The system is strong enough to withstand regressive daily operations where the database is

maintained and cleared over a certain time of span. The implementation of the system in the organization

will considerably reduce data entry, time and also provide readily calculated reports.

We conclude that the computerized system was more efficient than the manual system. The system

could be a great help in locating and managing the inventory records of the school. The monitoring of

inventory record was easier and the system was easy to learn and use by the user.

37
Recommendation

Based on the conclusions, the proponent recommended the user may utilize the program to

improve and enhance the method of keeping inventory records. This study is recommended for

implementation since this inventory system will be beneficial not only to the user but also to the

departments head. The future researchers can enhance the supply inventory system.
