Conditional Sentence

Conditonal sentence adalah kalimat bersyarat yang memiliki dua klausa, induk kalimat dan
anak kalimat yang dihubungkan dengan kata “IF” yang berarti “Seandainya atau jika”.
Dalam bahasa Inggris, tipe kalimat ini dibagi menjadi 3, yakni :
1. First conditional atau Conditional sentence type 1
2. Second conditional atau conditional sentence type 2
3. Third conditional atau conditional sentence type 3
A. First conditional atau Conditional sentence Type 1
Kalimat dengan pola seperti ini berarti mungkin benar-benar terjadi jika syaratnya
terpenuhi. Oleh karena itu, makna kalimat ini disebut sebagai possibility (kemungkinan)
Pola kalimat

IF + Subject 1 + V1 / (-) do not +1 , Subject 2 + will +V1 /

V1+s/es / (-)does not+V1 will + be + adjective/
is/am/are+ adjective/ noun /
noun/ adverb
adverb

contoh kalimat :
 If I see Marry, I will tell her
Sub 1 V1 Obj Sub2 will + V1 O

 If she is rich , she will be happy

Sub 1 is+adjective Sub 2 will +be adjective

 I will invite Stephany If she is free tomorrow

Sub2 will +V1 Object Sub 1 is+adjective Adverb

B. Second conditional atau conditional sentence type 2
Mendeskripsikan situasi pengandaian di masa lalu dan tidak mungkin bisa terjadi
karena sudah berlalu. Klausa if ditemani oleh kalimat past perfect.
