Improving project success: A case study using benefits and project

management

As engineering student that will become engineer someday this case study is
a big help for us to guide us on how project management works. The case study
focuses on the question “How can benefits and project management approaches help
organizations to obtain more successful projects?”. The case study gives me an idea
on what is the project management, how things work in the field of engineering and
the needed strategy, and why we should invest more in technology.

Project management is the fundamental for attaining the final results of a

project, manage its contributors and outcomes. According to what I’ve learned, you
can’t or it is hard to achieve the organization goals without the project management
because project management is all about planning, controlling, and executing. Thus,
in order to achieve the goals of the organization, project management is needed.

This study shows that in project management it is essential to make plan or

strategy beforehand. Kerzner state that, the importance of project management in
developing a correct planning. I learned that making strategy or planning will give more
chances to success, with planning you can easily achieve short-term goals, complete
specific targets or even wider objectives. Therefore, strategy in project management
is a big help for the organization.

Investing more in technology means investing more for your success in

engineering field. In accordance of this case study, organizations have made
significant investments in technology, hoping to gain competitive advantages in
today’s dynamic markets. In conclusion, technology have a great impact in project
management that will help organization to achieve projects.

To sum it all up, project management is a fundamental in attaining the final

results of the projects, strategy in project management is essential in organization and
technology have a great impact in project management. Project management helps
organizations obtain their objectives in projects.
 Case Study on Improving Quality Management of W Company’s New Product
Development Project

Quality management ensures that an organization, product or service is

consistent so is not that easy. This case study focuses on improving the quality
management of W company and it includes the analysis quality management of W
company’s new product development project, and project quality management.

Analysis quality management of W company’s new product development

project. Analyzing the new product base on the quality is very important because you
should know your product firsthand before you produce it. It needs to be analyzed to
know if it is enough to fulfill the customers wants and need. The product should aim to
satisfy customers. For me, that is the reason why the W company examine first their
new product.

The quality management of new product development project is based on

project quality process management. I learned that the project quality management
has three main components: quality plan, quality assurance and quality control. These
four three main components are useful in the project quality management because
each of the components have different inputs, methods and skills, and outputs. Thus,
project quality management is essential in new product development project.

To conclude, improving quality management of W Company’s new product

development project is a vast topic. It has so many explanations and tables that
indicates the result, but it has two main focus. Firstly, analysis of the new product, it is
very important to test the new product before selling it. Secondly, the quality
management, it is essential in creating new product and applying the quality plan,
quality assurance and quality control will be a great help to obtain success for the
project or product.

In engineering field, it is important to know how to manage and dealing

problems to have a successful project. This case study will serve as guide and helps
to those company that has difficulties in building a foundation inside or outside of the
organization. The case study emphasized the project management which means the
executing and managing the work to achieved the goals and to have a successful
project.

Project management plays a vital role for the improvement and the successful
of the company or the project itself since this is referring to the planning, controlling,
leading and organizing which are the managerial functions. The approaches
mentioned in this study is significant in project management to have an effective
impact in a project success.

This case study will give me a lot of knowledge regarding on how to deal with
failures and what the strategies that must be implemented to improve my company in
the future. I have realized that leading a company is not easy and it was too difficult
task because there is an instances you will face a lot of problems and you can feel
that you are a failure. Maybe sometimes you can say that you’re not good leader or
manager because of the things you cannot settle or because of the things you cannot
fixed. By this case study it will enlighten you how to deal with it and how you manage
how to prevent or avoid that thing to be called-failure.

In conclusion, in managing and improving a company and project is not easy

task you have to encounter a lot of challenges and failures and you need have to think
a strategies how to deal with that problems. Project management is one of the
strategies that you can apply to achieved the goals of the company and to have more
chances of being success. In order to know if it is a successful or a failure it depends
to the criteria if it meets or fails in terms of the quality, cost or time and among others.
But it will depends how you handle and how you manage your organization since it is
not only you can be affected but also the organization that you have and teamwork is
the key.

Case Study on Improving Quality Management of W Company’s New Product

Development Project

Managing a company is consider one of the most difficult work since you are
dealing not only the employees that you have but also the products that you produced.
This case study is more on in analyzing the problems and the things that you need to
improve for the company. In this study, mentioned some things that will help to know
what are the things need to develop and what are the things that is needed to let go
for the betterment of the company through what they called evaluation analysis which
indicates the existing problems and design improvement scheme.

Identifying the existing problems and analyzing the cause of existing problems
is somehow most suitable way to know what are things that must be done and what
are the thing must be avoided for the developing or improvement of the company. I’ve
realized that in a company you need have to hands on and monitor all the things to
lessen problems. As a student that has the dream to become an engineer, someday I
will be the managing the entire project, it is important that I know how to monitor and
how to analyze the cause of existing problems so that I can think the best solution of
that project.

In the field of engineering, this case study will be the reference on how to
monitor or how to evaluate the company since there is no company cannot encounter
problems, so it will help the company what are things that they need to be done for the
improvement of their own company. Let’s look in engineering field, engineer manager
should know also in identifying and analyzing the problems in the project to think the
best way to prevent more problems and to ensure to the client that it will be alright and
nothing to be worry about. Also, as engineer manager you need to how to handle not
only the organization that you enter but also the project itself.

To conclude, the best way to know of a manager is how to identify and how to
analyze the existing problems to thing the best solution in order to develop the
company and not to drag it down. Monitoring is the key to know the things that you
need to improve. Company itself will be the one that are responsible for the
development and they are the one finding a way to solve the problem.
