Slide 1. Welcome Message

Hi, I am <Your Name>. I am in <Your degree and year> and I am an Internshala Student
Partner representing Internshala in our college.

Today I am hosting a seminar to tell you all about the ‘How to land your dream internship
through Internshala!’ So, let’s get started.

Slide 2. 2 million… students

I would like to start by sharing a fact with you that 2 million students graduate every year. But,
only 7% of them are employable! Strange, right? Why do you think there is such a low
employment rate in our country?

Slide 3. Due to lack of

The reason why we have such a low employment rate is due to the lack of -

1. Soft skills - A lot of students lack back communication skills

2. Lack of professionalism - Students lack work ethics
3. Lack of technical skills – But sometimes, it becomes difficult to secure an internship
because students do not have the required technical skills. And when they want to learn
these skills, they find it difficult to join a training center because of their college studies
plus we don’t have a lot of money, isn’t it?

I have a question here. Do you want to be a part of the 7% of students who are employable or
be a part of the majority? The first one, right?

Slide 4. Internshala Can Help

Internshala is the World’s no. 1 Internship and Training Platform

Internshala is an internship and online training platform which was founded in 2010 with an

get an internship rather all internships on Internshala (apart from NGO & Not-for-profit

internships on Internshala that matches your profile and availability.

Before we move on to our next slide, I want to ask you all how many of you have applied for an
internship but did not get selected?

Slide 6. How to land an internship through Internshala?

To land an internship through Internshala you must take care of two things -

1. Resume – You have to fill the basic details and Internshala will convert it into your resume.
You don’t have to upload your resume.
2. Assessment Questions – You need to individually apply to internships by answering few
assessment questions. One common question that we see in every internship opening is – ‘Why
you should be hired for this internship’?

So, before I explain to you how a write an effective answer to the assessment questions let’s
have a look how does Internshala resume look like

Slide 7. Internshala Resume

This is how Internshala resume looks like. The details students share while filling Internshala
profile is turned into an error-free resume. So, all students should not miss out on any important
details like education details, skills, experiences, etc. Also, make sure that you keep updating
your profile/resume on Internshala
Slide 8. How to write an effective ‘Why should you be hired for this internship?’
assessment question

The answer to the assessment question i.e. ‘Why should you be hired for this internship?’ is the
first thing that the employer sees. I would like to share a fact that it takes only 6 secs for an
employer to reject your application. Therefore, this question should be answered with the utmost
care and should reflect your zeal to work for the organization

1. Keep it simple and structured – You should introduce yourself briefly i.e. what you are
currently doing, and state why you are a good fit i.e. skills you possess for the job with
examples of activities you have done in the past that prove you are the perfect candidate
for the position.
2. Keep it personalized – You should not copy template answers. This has never helped
and will never help. Many students just copy paste a generic answer to this question
from the internet which is one of the major reasons that their application gets rejected. (If
you can Google the question, the employer can also Google your answer). You can do
some research about the role offered and the company. This will help you connect the
skills/ experiences you have with the requirements of that particular role and
organization.
3. Proofread your answer - You should make sure there are no errors in the answer. If
need be, you could consult someone (with really good written communication skills) to
help you out with the errors. Grammarly (free online tool) can help you check grammar
and spelling errors.

As getting an internship is a time taking process I will now share with you few secret tips to
quickly get an internship

Slide 9: Secret tips to quickly get an internship

1. Understand that it’s a competition – The more internships you apply for, the higher are
your chances of getting hired. This means that till you do not get a confirmation from the
employer that you have been hired, you should continue applying for internships matching your
criteria.
2. Get noticed – Applying to internships that have been recently posted at Internshala, will
improve your chances of getting noticed by the employer since the internship would not have
received too many applications. You should check for ‘Posted At’ date in the internship section
and apply to the ones that have recently been posted.
3. Respond quickly - You should not wait for the next day to revert when you hear back from
the employers. You should immediately inform the employer that you have received the
communication and you’ll act on it on time.
4. Be smart – It is smarter to start the journey by applying to internships that are easier to get
like ‘work from home’ internships, campus ambassador programs, and NGO volunteering
internships. Getting selected here would open doors for them to catch the ‘Big Fish’ in the
coming summer internship season!
