Suitable Medium and Medium Characteristics This manual applies to compressed natural gas, molecular formula of which is ; CNG The UN number of compressed natural gas belonging to flammable gas is 1971, and the class of it is 2.1 Compressed natural gas is a colorless, flammable and explosive gas. There will be a danger of explosion if the compressed natural gas was mixed with oxygen, 2. Tube skid Structure The tube skid mainly consists of frame, seamless steel cylinder of large capacity and front-end safety cabinet. back-end operation cabinet. The intemal and external threads were processed on both ends of the seamless steel cylinder of large eapacity, the cylinder was connected with flange by external threads and the flange was fixed on the support by bolts. The plug was connected with seamless steel cylinder of large capacity by the internal thread, which will be conneeted with the manifold. The ‘back-end operation cable was composed of gas inlet/outlet pipeline, thermometer, pressure gauge, and quick coupler and safety relief devices. 3. Main Part of the Cylinder skid 3.1 Seamless steel cylinder of large capacity The design, fabrication, inspection, and acceptance of seamless steel cylinder of large capacity shall conform to IS011120:2015. 3.2 Back-End Operation Figure 1. The pipeline figure The pipeline system was installed in the back-end operation cabinet, The basic loft 1\ pipeline system was made up of safety relief pipeline consisting of back safety relief device and vent pipe, manifold, thermometer, pressure gauge, cylinder valve, master valve. The pipeline structure was shown in Figure 1. 3.3 Frame Frame of the skid was designed referencing to the standard container, and it could be connected with semi-trailer by the four comer fittings. Filling and Discharging Valves and Safety Accessories. 4.1 Filling and Discharging Valve Filling and discharging valve is a ball valve both end of which are NPTI internal threads, 4.2 Filling and Discharging Joint The standard of the joint is IS07241-1 Series B; users can connect the sockets as needed. 43° Safety Accessories 43.1 Pressure Gauge The type of pressure gauge is YINF-100, precision grade is1.6, the measurement range of it is 0 ~ 40 MPa and the connection type is NPT 1/4 external thread. Pressure gauge is installed above the pressure gauge valve. Normally, the valve should be open, When the pressure gauge need to be replaced because of damage or periodic inspection, the valve should be close and the vent screw should be slowly loosened (NOTE NOT TO SCREW DOWN) to vent pressure between the valve and the pressure gauge, and then the pressure gauge can be removed, finally the vent screw was tightened. 43.2. Thermometer ‘The thermometer type is WSSF-411, Class 1.5, the measurement renge is ~40 to 80 °C, the connection type is external thread of M272. The medium does not directly contact to the thermometer, so the thermometer can be removed due to damage or for the regular inspection. 43.3 Safety Relief Device Safety relief device combining of rupture disk and fusible alloy was set both the sides of cach cylinder. The design bursting pressure of rupture disk at 20°C is hydrostatic test pressure, and for the nominal working pressure of 25 MP, the design bursting pressure of rupture disk at 20°C is 37.5MPa. The operating temperature of the fusible alloy device sets to 74 °C. Preparation Replacement should be done before using, and direct filling was forbidden. ‘The replacement can be done using nitrogen, and it is qualified when the oxygen content of each cylinder is not more than 3%. There should remain 0.05~0.1MPa after the replacement. The cylinder valve and main valve should be closed after the replacement. Use and operation 6.1Connection between tube skid and semi-trailer ‘The semi-trailer should be in good condition before being connected with the tube skid, and when both of them are already in place, the four turn lock handle should be rotated 90 degree to fix the tube skid. 6.2 Filling Operation 6.2.1 First Fill First filling contains not only the first filling of tube skid but also the first filling after examine and repair, The nitrogen should be vent before filling. 1) Tube skid should be parked in designated safe workplace of filling station, when tractor engine was extinguished, open the back-end operation door, and then door hook was hanged 2) Credibly connect the equipment to the earth system of the filling station with the earth electric cable. 3) Before filling, users should check whether the valve is in the closed position, whether the nitrogen residual pressure is in the cylinder and confirm that the oxygen content is less than3%, 4) Keep the master valve of pipeline closed, open the cylinder valve, and then open the master valve to vent the nitrogen in the cylinder slowly. After the nitrogen was almost completely vented (keep positive pressure), the master valve should be immediately closed. Finally the filling hose of the filling station was connected with quick connection. 5) Open the station nitrogen valve to let the air in the hose be replaced by nitrogen, and finally open the vent valve. Close the vent valve when the replacement was finished. 6) Open the master valve of the tube skid, and then open the filling valve of the station slowly. 7) Close the filling valve of the station when the filling pressure reaches to the pressure corresponding to the filling temperature, and then close the cylinder valve and the master valve, after that, the vent valve was open to release the gas in the hose, 30f7 finally cut off the connection of the quick couplers when there is no pressure in the hose. 8) Put away the earth electric cable, and shut the back-end operation cabinet door 9) The vehicle bears off the station, 622 Filling 1) Get to the appointed area, stably stop the vehicle, open the door of operation cabinet, 2) Credibly connect the equipment to the earth system of the filling station with the earth electric cable. 3) Check the residual pressure :Mainiain the master valve closed, and then open the cylinder valves, finally open the vent valve when there is no residual pressure, If there is no residual pressure in the cylinder, the replacement can be done due to par, 4) Connected the hose with the quick coupler, and the hose should lies straight and smoothly. Its forbidden to make sharp curve and distortion. and close the vent 5). Open station nitrogen valve to replace the air in the ho: valve when the air was completely replaced. Open the station filling valve to let the nitrogen in the hose be replaced by compress natural gas, and finally open the vent valve. Close the vent valve when the replacement was finished, ©) Open the master valve of the tube skid, and then open the filling valve of the station slowly. 7) Close the filling valve of the station when the filling pressure reaches to the to the filling temperature, and then close the cylinder valve and the hose, pressure correspond the master valve, after that, the vent valve was open to release the gas finally eut off the connection of the quick couplers when thete is no pressure in the hose, 8) Put away the earth electric eable, and shut the back-end operation. 9) The vehicle bears off the station. 6.3 Discharging 1) Get to the appointed area, stably stop the vehicle, open the door of operation cabinet. 2) Credibly connect the equipment to the earth system of the filling station with the earth electric cable, 3) Check the valve position to ensure that all the valve and master valve were closed. 4) Connected the hose with the quick coupler, and the hose should lies straight and smoothly. Open the station filling valve to let the nitrogen in the hose be replaced by compress natural gas, and finally open the vent valve. Close the vent valve when the replacement was finished 6) Open the master valve of the station, and then open the discharging valve of the station stowly. 7) Close the master valve of the station according to the user's requirement, and then close the master valve of the tube skid, The vent valve should be open to release ‘the gas in the hose, finally cut off the connection of the quick couplers when there is no pressure in the hose. 8) Put away the earth electric cable, and shut the back-end operation. 9) The vehicle bears off the station. 6.4 Matters need attention of filling and discharging 6.4.1 The operation should comply with the safety regulations and national and local safety regulations, and the operation record must be kept, 6.4.2 The filling pressure at 15°Cshould not exceed the nominal working pressure. Important note: 4, The valve should be open slowly, When the valve leak occurs, filling and discharging should be closed immediately and then close the other valves for inspection and maintenance. b. MPa, Security Operation Points 8.1 The manager is resporsible for the safe operation of the tube skid. 8.2 The operator must fully understand the tube skid properties and the operation of Sort cs os 8 accessories, and they must grasp the basic characteristics of the transport medium, road ‘transport safety regulations and knowledge of fire prevention and ete., and can also deal with emergency situations and accidents. The operators must be provided with necessary training. 8.3 In charge of unloading operations, the operator shall not leave the scene, and the rivers shall not start the vehicle. Ifthe tube skid cannot remove in the fire environment, the pressure of cylinders will arise, then the pressure relief devices will be open to reduce the pressure .We should note that the gas from the relief devices will increase the fires, so “ve should not put off the burning gas, but let it burn out. 2) The leakage of compress natural gas caused by traffie accident. The road transportation may inevitably cause traffic accident. Although the accident will not cause explosion, the leakage of CNG will occur due to the damage of pipeline caused by the rear-end collision and lateral roll. It will explode with the naked lights when the mixture of CNG and air reach the explision limit. Therefore, the leakage of CNG occurs, the emergency person should wear self-contained breathing apparatus and also anti electrostatic fire service, as far as possible to close the cylinder valve. 3) The leakage of CNG may not only lead to explosion, but also make the person in the CNG environment suffocate.
