Title: CONSIDER AND TAKE POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE RESOLUTION

TO SET THE 2019-2020 MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS TAX RATE
AT $1.068350 FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAINTENANCE AND
OPERATIONS AND TO SET THE 2019-2020 DEBT SERVICE TAX RATE
AT $0.242035 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYMENT OF PRINCIPAL AND
INTEREST ON DEBTS

The undersigned, being duly authorized to act in this matter by and on behalf of the Board of Trustee (“the Board”)
of the Dallas Independent School District (“the District”), and having duly notified, discussed and approved this
matter with the members of the Board in a meeting of the Board in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas,
do hereby consent to the adoption by the District of the following resolutions:

WHEREAS, the Board approves the resolution for the adoption of the 2019 Maintenance and Operations Tax
Rate; and

WHEREAS, the Board approves an ad valorem tax of $1.068350 per $100 valuation for the maintenance and
operations of the public schools of the Dallas Independent School District; and

WHEREAS, the tax rate above includes a 10 percent (10%) homestead exemption in tax calculations; and

WHEREAS, the taxable value of property shall be the same as that fixed by the Dallas Central Appraisal District;
and

WHEREAS, no reduction, discount or abatement of the tax assessed or due shall be allowed by reason of prompt
payment and satisfaction of the tax liability by a person, firm or corporation; and

WHEREAS, the (total) property tax rate will be decreased by the adoption of a tax rate of $1.310385, which is
effectively a 3.26 percent decrease in the tax rate.

NOW BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees of the Dallas Independent School District, at
a Board Meeting on August 22, 2019, approves the adoption of the 2019-2020 fiscal year Maintenance and
Operations Tax Rate.
