General Objectives : To be able to understand the effect of factors such as surface area, concentration,
pressure, temperature and catalyst on the rate of reaction.
Specific Objectives:
Beginning : I can describe and explain the effect of surface area.
Developing : I can describe and explain effects of surface area in terms of collisions
between reacting particles
Mastering: I can describe the application of the above factors to the danger of
explosive combustion with fine powders (e.g. flour mills) and gases
(e.g. methane in mines)
