Proposal: Relationship improvement in Costa Coffee shop

Introduction
In the last few months there was an evident tendency to strengthen the negative
approach of our employees to the rest of the staff. Not only does it have a negative
impact on efficiency of the work, but also the reputation of our place is worsening.

Cultural difference
Taking into consideration that the cultural background of all members is completely
various and divergent, there is a high probability of misinterpreting the others
intentions. Costa coffee offers work opportunities to every human being
independently of ethnic group, origin or social background. It is extremely important,
that this law should be respected by all of the workers. On the other hand, it can
induce tension when it comes to understanding what someone means and
arguments are unavoidable.

I would suggest formalizing relationships at work to improve politeness and regard. It

could be done by establishing a new policy and rules how to behave to do justice to
others.

Schedule
Previously, when there was a cut due to the redundancy of staff, the burden of
responsibility for more duties appeared. To resolve this problematic issue more
working hours was part and parcel in this situation. Nevertheless it is perceived that
some employees do not work sufficiently. In no uncertain terms, it could be
anticipated that this swift change would not have satisfied conditions.

In no uncertain terms changing schedules should be recommended in this situation.

Establishment of the minimum and maximum numer of hours needs to be included.
Criteria like distance to work, children and feasibility of working on the mornings and
in the evenings will be also considered to omit this situation in the future.

Conclusion
On the end, I would like to point out that it is of prime importance that every member
of Costa Coffee staff feel comfortable and respected in the work placement. The
point at issue is that change of approach is needed and that all staff perceive that
their workmates are fulfilling the terms of their contract.
