Critical and Creative Thinking to Minimize Drug’s Consumers of Teenagers

Many teenagers in Indonesia have been trapped on drug cases. They are not
only as the consumers of drug, but some of them also as the distributors of the
drug itself. These numbers increase more and more. As Komisi Perlindungan
Anak (KPAI) in 2016 informed that there were 14 thousands of teenagers in
Indonesia were positive to be drug consumers. Their ages are around 12–21 years
old. In the other hand, Badan Narkotika Nasional (BNN) in 2016, also announced
that drug consumers in Indonesia were about 22%. Some of them are student of
Junior High Schools, Senior High Schools and also college students.
As we know that the drug effects are so dangerous. It can make lung cancer,
injected of HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, mental disorder, increase of free sex, and rising
the numbers of died because of over doses. It is so dangerous and giving the
disadvantages toward teenagers. Teenager that is a drug consumer cannot be the
gold young generation of our country, because they never focus about their study.
To solve the problem above, it needs an effort to avoid the teenagers
participate in the drugs. That is by increasing the critical and creative thinking
among the teenagers. The steps to think critically and creatively that are
formulated through this paper are: (1). Change your routine toward positive
activity that support your potential, (2) Analyze the problem that happened in your
life, and identify the effect toward your life, (3). Do brainstorming to find the
ideas to solve your problem, and (4). Make the decision based on your analyze
which ones the best solution toward your problem. By which, they will be able to
think more about the positive activities than the negative ones. Besides, the most
important thing by doing critical and creative thinking, they can explore their
potential and interest to realize in their lives. Furthermore, critical and creative
thinking will contribute in solving the problems that the teenagers own. The
ability to think creatively will also make them have more chance to be better in
their future because they can imagine well and set up everything critically and
creatively.
Certainly, the effort described above will be more effective to do if every
level of their environments (family, educational institutions, and society) support
them by performing more supervisions about everything that the teenagers do,
mainly referring to the new things which they would like to know.
This scientific writing is aimed to offer a solution in minimizing the
distribution of drug through thinking critically and creatively. In this case, the
writer will elaborate the steps that can be applied by the teenagers to have critical
and creative ideas. Then, this writing will also investigate how effective critical
and creative thinking to reduce the number of drugs’ distributions.
This paper is done through gaining literature review on some theories
relating to the study, finding the realities, identifying the problem, showing the
factors cause the facts, offering the solution (an effort to minimize the drug’s
distribution; critical and creative thinking).
In conclusion, the solution offered enables the teenagers to think more
about their better future by doing the positive activities which develop their
potentials and interest. In the other words, it avoids them to do the negative things
that will destroy their future.
