Instructions to the students
1. For every weekly review, students should prepare item/task wise details and upload the
same in CAMU
2. You have to submit the word document of the same through mail to your respective
faculty guides.
3. Marks will be awarded for every weekly review based on the information provided by
you in the report and you can check the marks scored by you in CAMU.
4. The students have to submit their soft copies of weekly reports, otherwise for that week
they will miss the marks for continuous evaluation of IIP.
5. Students have to note the official mail id and mobile number of the respective faculty
guide.
6. Students doing IIP in places other than Hyderabad and Secunderabad have to mail the
scanned version of their diary for verification and award of marks at the time of mid-term
evaluation.
7. Students should follow the Do’s and Don’ts for Students during IIP strictly (Annexure-
IV).

Annexure - I
Contents of Report on Organizational Study
(For Midterm Review & As a part of Final Report of IIP)

This report shall have the following two parts:

1. Three (3) CET Report , covering the company, the customer, the competitots, the
environment and the technology and
2. A detailed SWOT analysis of the company.
1.Three CET Report
i.COMPANY
In the initial days of commencement of IP, a Student should understand the company as a whole
by going through various departments of the company. In addition, the Student should also
understand the position of the company vis-à-vis the industry in which the company is operating.
Students should study the following aspects:
 Corporate’s History
 Mission
 Vision: It is a statement which shows a company's road map, indicating what the
company wants to become by setting a defined direction for the company's growth.
 Values
 Systems and Processes of the Organization
 Products/Services offered by the company
The following aspects may be studied by the student to understand the major functional areas of
the company:
1. Marketing: Product portfolio, Distribution network, Sales force, Pricing, Promotion
strategies, Customer service, Market structure, Market share, Competition, Measurement
metrics.

2. Human Resources: Organization structure, Organization chart, Senior management,


Departments and Functions, Staff strength, Recruitment, Training and Development,
Appraisal and Retention practices etc. Retention issues, Measurement metrics.

3. Operations: Functions, Processes, Facilities, Measurement metrics.

4. Finance: Capital structure, Financial ratios, Performance matrics etc.

5. Research & Dévelopment (R&D) and

Any other relevant function.

ii. CUSTOMERS
During the initial period of IP, the Student Intern should understand the products of the company

and the customer profile. Effort should be made on various aspects of understanding the
customers, their segmentation, product positioning, buying pattern, etc.
iii. COMPETITION
A Student Intern is also expected to understand the competitors for the products marketed by the
IP Company.
iv. ENVIRONMENT
It is essential for the intern to understand the macro and micro economic environment in which
the IP Company is operating. The national and international environment which has an influence
on the Company’s performance also needs to be studied.

v. TECHNOLOGY
The Student should focus on the technology platforms and specific ERP packages relevant for
the Company. It is important to get insights into the pre and post-technology productivity of
people, customer service, grievance redressed, etc.
II.SWOT ANALYSIS
A student is expected to study the economic environment in which the company is operating,
understand its progress in the past and based on the same, analyze the strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities and threats to the company.
The SWOT analysis should provide insights into the company’s future prospects and the
strategic directions.

Who’s Who
The student should know and prepare a report on the following executives and their role briefly:
1. The immediate operations team including the company guide and supervisors,
2. Departmental heads at the corporate and
3. The chief executive officer/the managing director and the other top management team
members of the company.

Annexure -III

CHECKLIST FOR MIDTERM EVALUATION

1. Draft of the Report on Organizational Study as per the Contents of Report on


Organizational Study given at the end (Annexure2)
2. All filled in questionnaires to get the approval of the respective faculty guide for further
process and analysis
3. All daily activities in diary should be entered according to the given Format of DIARY of
DIAlY Activities (Annexure1). It should be duly signed by the industry guide and the
same should be submitted to the faculty guide for awarding the marks.

Note-Ensure that the students have to produce the above documents when they attend for
Midterm Evaluation in the SSIM campus

Annexure - IV

DO’S AND DON’TS FOR STUDENTS DURING IIP

Do’s: Student should –

1. Always maintain formal dress code.


2. Always be polite in his/her dealings and maintain cordial relationship with the company
executives.
3. Always transact all business transactions as per the laid down policies of the company
4. Always be positive and open to suggestions.
5. Always make a note of the important points during meetings/discussions.
6. Get in touch with the faculty guide, if the situation warrants.
7. Maintain strict confidentiality of the company’s information.
8. Consult the faculty guide or refer to textbooks to reinforce relevant concepts.
9. Always submit bills in time when reimbursement is to be claimed. Get conversant with
the company’s policies/rules before incurring expenditure.
10. Always be present whenever the faculty guide or the placement coordinator visits the
company.
11. Focus on assignment and complete the allotted individual tasks allotted on schedule.

Don’ts: Student should not –
1. Criticize the company’s policies and the Company Executives.
2. Criticize or make adverse comments about SSIM / the Faculty Guide / Corporate
Guide.
3. Attend the office in informal dress.
4. Get into arguments and lose temper.
5. Misuse the facilities offered by the company.
6. Go to meetings and presentations unprepared or ill-prepared.
7. Be late.
8. Leave the office without prior permission from the Company Guide.
9. Be impolite or rude to the Company Executives.
10. Exceed the mandate given by the Company Guide and collect information that is
confidential in nature.
11. Hold back any material/equipment/accessories provided by the company on a returnable
basis.
12. Collect Cash/Cheques in the personal name for any business transactions.
13. Borrow money or any other personal effects of the Company Executives.
14. Interfere in third party assignments.
15. Encourage friends visiting workplace during office hours and cause inconvenience to
others.
