Schedule of Topics
WEEK 1 Overview of Topic: Adjectives, features, characteristics, Verb To be, Present Simple, Making
comparisons, identifying similarities, differences, Describing and classifying people, information gaps.
PHYSICAL
DESCRIPTIONS Tasks: Mr. Potato project; Finding differences in two pictures, describing a hero, Guess Who, Finding the
suspect in the class, Drawing, Listing, Drawing a Monster Portrait, Complete descriptions Worksheets,
Song of the body.
Homework: Students will be required to complete their worksheets.
Project: Students will be required to bring materials to create a Mr. Potato to socialize it the last day of the
week.

WEEK 2 Overview of Topic: Weather adjectives, vocabulary of weather and seasons, seasons, clothing, hobbies
and sports, months, temperature, weather of Colombia compared to other countries, routines, Present
WEATHER Simple, vocabulary of the day, hours.
DESCRIPTIONS
Tasks: Daily Weather report, Matching clothing and seasons, Describing daily routines, Describing
weather, compare weather in Colombia and other countries role-play, hypothetical situations.
Homework: Students will be required to search every day for next day´s forecast and be ready to report in
class.
Project: create a calendar of seasons using real life materials in groups to represent their season.

WEEK 3 Overview of Topic: holidays and travel vocabulary, outdoor and indoor activities, simple past, like and
dislike, clothing vocabulary.
HOLIDAYS
Tasks: Talk about your last holidays, match seasons with clothes, describe the perfect holidays, like and
dislike worksheet.
Homework: Students will be required to bring pictures of their last vacations and describe the activities
they were involved in.

Project: Students will be required to create Travel Agencies in groups in order to sell the best trip ever for
vacation.

Method of Instruction
The method used in this course is the direct method which include an intensive use of the target language and some techniques such
as lecture, lab work, paper writing, class discussions, oral presentations, projects, listening of podcasts, dialongs and songs, etc. The
teacher and students are expected to used the target language all the time and the native language is restricted to special situations.
