In conducting cleaning activities, housekeeping

staff should know the technique of cleaning .
Technique of cleaning there are two kind that
is:

 Manual Cleaning is manual cleaning human

power without the appliance of the electric
power uses.
 Mechanical Cleaning is cleaning by using
electric appliance such as vacuum, brushing
machine, etc

Where the daily cleaning is almost 90% done is

by manual cleaning, and mechanical cleaning is
usually done for general cleaning or monthly
cleaning.

 Manual cleaning is a cleaning method that is done by using human power, as well as the
way the cleaning is also assisted with manual equipment.
Type of cleaning manually:
 Dry Dusting ( mengelap debu dengan lap atau dusting cloth )
 Damp Dusting ( mengelap debu dengan lap lembab )
 Sweeping ( menyapu lantai )
 Mopping ( mengepel lantai )
 Window Cleaning ( membersihkan kaca jendela )
 Polishing ( memoles atau menkilapkan lantai maupun logam )
 Corner Brushing ( menyikat sudut yang tidak dapat dijangkau oleh mesin )

 Mechanical cleaning is a cleaning done without human help that is by using engine
power. Here man power serves only as a mover.
A kind of mechanical cleaning:
 Floor Brushing ( menyikat lantai dengan menggunakan scrubbing machine)
 Floor Polishing ( memoles atau menyemir dengan mengunakan mesin )
 Crystallization ( mengkilapkan lantai dengan mesin, biasanya pada lantai
tertentu )
 Wall Polishing ( memoles dinding dengan menggunakan mesin, dilakukan pada
dinding tertentu dengan menggunakan mesin hand polishing )
 Vaccuum Cleaning (Menyedot debu menggunakan mesin vacuum)

In the planning, the way of cleaning can be done into 3 parts namely :
1. Daily Cleaning: daily cleaning is usually done regular cleaning using
normal chemical and equipment
2. Weekly Cleaning: planned cleaning, which is done based on the
results of daily cleaning and maintenance of equipment and special
chemicals
3. Monthly Cleaning: cleaning is also called general cleaning or deep
cleaning done periodically with the action plan cleaning schedule, block
the room if needed

checked by the supervisor based on the room inspected check
list the day before giving the list of jobs for each day, usually also
called the Thing To Do List Form, attach the job with assignment
staff every day
The cleaning techniques that we used for daily cleaning such as:
 Sweeping ( Menyapu )
 Damp Sweeping ( Mengepel )
 Mopping ( Mengepel dengan sabut Mop )
 Dry Dusting ( Membersihkan debu dengan lap kering )
 Damp Dusting ( Membersihkan debu dengan lap lembab )
 Lobby Duster ( Membersihkan debu pada lantai atau menjebak
debu dengan Lobby Duster )
 Squeezing ( Pemeras / Penarik solution permukaan
 Vacuum Cleaning (Sedot debu )
 Brushing (Menyikat)

The cleaning chemical that we used for daily cleaning such as:
 Glass Cleaner : based from isopropyl alcohol (IPA), water, and
texapone, safety to clean the glass, stain on the wall, very good
for daily cleaning / using microfiber cloth is much better
 All Purpose Cleaner : based from texapone, citric acid, and
water, it is safe to maintain the durability of room equipment
such as washbasin, toilet, stainless, etc, so the age of the
materials can be maintained

for daily use is highly recommended to use this chemical, for use
of other chemicals based on the state of the room, water
content and the hardness of materials

The cleaning equipment that we used for daily cleaning such as:
 Caddy, Cloth
 Bottle Sprayer
 Window Washer
 Window squeezer
 Toilet Bowl Brush
 Pad Boy with pad (White, Red, Green)
 Sponge
 Hand Brush
 Mop Set
 Floor Broom
 Dust Pan
Using of this equipment is commonly done if already familiar with
Housekeeping Strategy, for the use of pads it must be careful
REMEMBER ,,, for glass and stainless use sponge, maximum white
pad color, using a pad other than white color will make the glass
and stainless surface damaged

list result of daily cleaning, and do treatment for a week and
listing use for weekly treatment job list form, attach the job with
assignment staff every week

Hand polisher
Floor Scrubbing machine
 Ceiling broom
 Telescopic

Wood surface polishing, metal ornaments polishing every week

is very efficient done, brushing the floor every week will reduce
the heavy work while doing deep cleaning, cleaning spider web
done once a week and also need to check for every day

 Stain Remover

Stainless cleaner in question is a cleansing agent used to clean the

material, and Stain Remover chemical-hard based material for
stains that can not be removed using daily cleaning chemical

Almost the same as weekly cleaning, it's just done thoroughly the
removal of equipment such as bed, cabinets, refrigerator, air
conditioning cover, and others are indispensable

Stainless cleaner in question is a cleansing agent used to clean the

material, and Stain Remover chemical-hard based material for
stains that can not be removed using daily cleaning chemical,
cleaning chemicals and polishing natural stones according to the
type of natural stone used

To perform daily cleaning prepare Thing To Do every room based on the
results of previous checks, insert in the assignment of each section, make a
list what to do by staff every day then do re-check, whether the staff has
worked according to the list given.

Cleaning plans for each week adjust to the condition of the room, make a
schedule every week, note what kind of the components should be clean
every week for all rooms every section

Deep cleaning planning should be done every month, every room every
month must be done by the deep cleaning, make a monthly schedule for
every room. blocked the room if necessary
