Title: Superstitious Belief: It’s Impact to the Behavior and Attitude of the Senior

High School Students in Pilar National Comprehensive High School, School Year

2018-2019

The objective of this research proposal is to explore the impact of superstitious

belief to the behavior and attitude of the senior high school students in pilar national

comprehensive high school. This research proposal aimed to answer what are the

common superstitious belief that the senior high school students had experience and

proven, how does superstitious belief affect the behavior and attitude of the senior high

school students and what are the positive and negative effects of superstitious belief to

the behavior and attitude of the senior high school students.

Superstitious belief is a common phenomena in our society. It has grown in

numbers throughout the various regions and provinces. This beliefs is a part of culture

for one derives from the influence what their custom, tradition and culture have dictate

to explain certain phenomena. Being superstitious person can affect behavior and state

of mind influencing everything from preparation and performance on a particular

challenges to your responsiveness to placebos. There are certain study that tries to

make an in-depth investigation about the effects of superstitious belief in the behavior

and attitude. Many people still believe that superstitious belief can help people to cope

with life. It also documented that superstition are able to affect a set of human choices

and attitude. There are study that superstitious belief had a negative impact to the social

well-being of people in society. It can affect the emotional, psychological, and cognitive

behavior of a person.

From approximately 800 total population of the Senior High School Students in

Pilar National Comprehensive High School, 30 of these will be the sample participants

of this study. The participants will be choose through quota sampling from Grade 11

Accountancy Business and Management (ABM), General Academic Strand (GAS)-B,

and General Academic Strand (GAS)-C. This research proposal will use semi-structured

interview in order to gather data.
