Statement of Purpose

My name is Ashwin Haribansh Singh. I am a permanent resident of Mumbai,

Maharashtra residing at Vasai. I am very much dedicated and ambitious student
who is willing to work under you for my dissertation work as part of my Msc Part
II Sem IV curriculum. Through this statement of purpose, I intend to disclose my
personal, educational background, career goal that I have set and specific reason
to work under you for my dissertation work.

I always was fond of Science and scientific things. I have passed my higher
secondary school from Thakur college of science and commerce kandivali,
Mumbai with fisrt class in year 2014. As because of peer pressure and family
willingness I took a gap and went for clearing NEET entrance exam for MBBS but
due to unstable financial condition it was impossible to fund my coaching.

After some guidance and a year gap , I choose biotechnology as career and did my
bachelor from prestigious institute of Mumbai University that is Jai Hind College
Churchgate. At my bachelors level, I have learned many important techniques
and I have also done project work for six month titled “Isolation And Genetic
Analysis Of Marine Bioluminescent Bacteria And Agro bacterium Mediated
Transformation Of Plant With Lux Genes For Study Of Novel Application”. which was
based of extraction of luminescent organism and transformation into plant. In
this project I have gained much knowledge of 16S rRNA sequencing,
electrophoresis and much more. I also have my novel gene submitted to NCBI
with accession no: MH057770.1.I also have helped my colleagues in organizing
Genaces –inter collegiate biotech festival of Jai Hind College. I have presented
my research work at Konark research project presentation in 2017 and in 2018 I
have presented my research work at JIGYAASA which was held at kishanchand
chellaram college.

While studying for masters in biotechnology at department of biotechnology,

University of Mumbai. I have gained much knowledge about new emerging
things, our institute has organized a visit to NIRRH, parel. At which I have seen
how they work, new machines they use to make things happen. I have got some
gist about TEM, new pcr techniques and how they use karyotyping to detect
genetic disease which has been used solely for the purpose of helping the society.
At the institute I have also helped in organizing national science day which is in
intercollegiate festival of biotech department of our University.
I am looking forward to work under you because medicine, antibiotic resistance,
immunity are the thing which I was always keen to know about in short I have
always liked and thought immunology as my subject for my career. I am looking
forward to work under field of antibiotic resistance and antimicrobials as my
major subject at my PHD level. I think my previous experience at bachelor’s level
will help you in your new project which is based on antibiotic resistance. It will be
honor to work under the guidance of such eminent faculty.

I am confident that through my research in your project under your lab will
provide me with best opportunity to become productive member of society while
making use of my intellectual talent in a career that I expect to be constantly
challenging and fulfilling.
